• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Guys, generally I don't say a lot about these sort of threads but I'll be very frank and honest. I was actually relieved when this thread was closed down and I know without a doubt I am not the only one. I think these type of threads can be detrimental not only to the unity of the forum (the fact this thread had to be shut down because it got so nasty is proof of that) but to the emotional well being of those posting. I think it would do us all some good to ask ourselves "Why do I feel the need to post my picture?"

Also as some of you have stated in the past you have had to deal with stalkers and bad experiences. Is it really wise to post the pics in light of the fact that anyone, whether a member of this forum or not, can see and have access to them?

I also think it is very unhealthy and wrong that someone cannot voice disapproval of a picture, not of a person but of what they are showing in a picture. I wish I could unsee some of the photos that have been posted over the course of my time on cf, not only in this thread but in some others. There is a balance in Christian liberty and I fear we are all guilty of abusing it at one time or another. I have been saddened and dismayed by an apparent silencing of any disapproval or questioning of a post (not a person, a post). I have seen a lot of guys jumping to the defense of the women on this forum, even when what was posted (in any format) was questionable or in fact against Scripture.

As for Geech, it is unfortunate that he could not post a gif without it raising such ire.

Now, since people don't appreciate others being "passive- aggressive" I will come out and say that I personally have no desire to look at another woman's assets anymore than I want to see a guy running around in a speedo. We all have a choice. You all can be horribly insulted by what I've said, get angry, and act in accordance to your anger or we can all move along. What is the attitude of our hearts and our intentions? This is suppose to be a "fun" thread yet if we are all very honest with ourselves is it really? And since when is it a crime and a sin to not agree with someone? Just my thoughts, opinions, and ponderings.

A-freaking-men.

Spot on, girl. I can't say much because obviously I just posted a picture of myself, and have in the past; and being a hypocrite is something I try very hard not to be. A majority of my pictures are silly; I took it out of fun, and I post them for the heck of it. I am not really hoping to get anything out of it; I guess it is something I like to do? It is hard to explain. But our intentions of posting our pictures is an extremely good point, and is something we should ask ourselves. Disagreeing isn't awful. We are all different, with different thoughts and opinions. I feel like we can share those opinions and disagree without coming across as a jerk, and I hope that after the recent events that happened in this forum, we can be a civilized group of people.

THIS!!!

i DO heart you at times.

Am getting tried of the fact people are getting shut down or accused of stuff that isn't true.

Also i fail too see where it says in the bible that we CAN'T disagree, debate, argue and even get angry, because i AM sure Jesus did all these things.

NOTE: This isn't me being angry or picking on anyone or pointing fingers, I am having a discussion and talking things, it one of the main reason relationships fail is because of lack of communication and shutting the other person down. I actually want this Forum to be the best it can be, I actually want to come here and be about jesus and sometimes giggle, i don't want to be afraid to post or being shut down.

I also don't want to be accused of things I am not, or it being suggested that I am doing something because I DON'T agree with someone, firstly its not very adult like, or very christian either

Before this gets out of hand, let me say this. If you don't want to post in this thread, or don't understand why others would, then don't post. It's that simple. Some people are enjoying themselves. Please let them.

I have no problem with disagreement either, and while I do agree with a lot of things you said, I would push back a little bit on a couple of things.

I was actually relieved when this thread was closed down and I know without a doubt I am not the only one. I think these type of threads can be detrimental not only to the unity of the forum (the fact this thread had to be shut down because it got so nasty is proof of that) but to the emotional well being of those posting. I'm not sure if it threatens the unity of the forum, but I will say that the question you pose is a really great point. I think we all need to consider modesty when it comes to posting pictures, both in a more general, character sense and also in a clothing sense. In a general, character sense, are we posting pictures because we want the personal attention/approval that comes with it, or are we just sharing part of our lives with other people? I have seen examples of both in this thread.
In a clothing sense, I have a general rule that it's better for guys to police the guys and women to police the women. I think women get the most flack for this, and some of it is warranted, but I think guys need to be cognizant of it as well. Shirtless pics just aren't necessary (and let's be honest, they make you look like a tool).

Also as some of you have stated in the past you have had to deal with stalkers and bad experiences. Is it really wise to post the pics in light of the fact that anyone, whether a member of this forum or not, can see and have access to them?

I believe this is really up to the individual. I have been educating myself a lot on internet privacy as of late, and different people ultimately have different ideas of the level of privacy they feel comfortable with. I think it's best just to leave it at that. And guys that make people feel threatened by posting pictures on here really need to go fly a kite.

I also think it is very unhealthy and wrong that someone cannot voice disapproval of a picture, not of a person but of what they are showing in a picture. I wish I could unsee some of the photos that have been posted over the course of my time on cf, not only in this thread but in some others. There is nothing wrong with showing disapproval of a picture, but I really don't agree that shaming someone publicly is the right or loving way to go about it.

Now, since people don't appreciate others being "passive- aggressive" I will come out and say that I personally have no desire to look at another woman's assets anymore than I want to see a guy running around in a speedo. Overall, good thoughts :)

I don't wanna poke the bear, but I do feel like only one side has been allowed to have their peace said. But I don't believe this to be the place for itm. If someone wants to discuss the merits or risks of posting pics- make a thread-- for that is not the function of this thread.

Now, a picture of me, Mojoboy31:

February 3 was National Wear Red Day to bring awareness to heart disease, and so my friends and I did so to honor my a lovely former neighbor and family friend who'd died of a heart attack at a tragically young age earlier that week.

Edit to add: I shared a post I'd written for my personal social media in this thread, and included several links about heart disease and the symptoms of a heart attack in younger adults. Our family friend was only 43 and appeared to be in impeccable health when she had a fatal heart attack. She'd had warning signs but hadn't realized she did because they were subtle, and she was so vivacious.

I'm the one with the braid in the dress that looks pink, but I promise is red. :)

Edit 2:
All my friends look gorgeous in the original photo I shared, but I found out after posting it that one disliked how she looked in it and asked that it be taken down from Instagram. None of the girls are members here, but still I feel like keeping it up would be disrespecting the spirit of her request. I'm substituting it for an even more current picture. All the girls in it posted it on their Insta, so I feel confident. I'm the second to the left. :)

I'm brave enough to share a throwback picture to when I had the chubbiest cheeks, haha. My mom just shared it on her Insta. She was, and still is, very beautiful.

Oh, and here is a throwback to when she was a baby!

Haha, she was on this elevated pathway, and you can see the feet of beach goers underneath it.

Hey, this is one of the pics I had put on PoF. It's been a long time since I've posted here. It's good to see back some of the familiar names I used to see on here.
