Dan 12:4 He said to me, "And now, Daniel, close the book and put a seal on it until the end of the world. Meanwhile, many people will waste their efforts trying to understand what is happening."

Dan 12:10
Many people will be purified. Those who are wicked will not understand but will go on being wicked; only those who are wise will understand.

Are we wasting our efforts or are we part of the wise that will understand? If we are part of the wise (ie. all Christians), why do theories of the end times differ so much? Aren't we all lead by the same Holy Spirit?

Because your last postulate, that "all Christians are wise", is false. At least if you're refering to man-made churchianity. If you're refering to the true remnant of God (only a small percentage of those who claim to be Christians) then I would suppose it's true. But even the true Christians can be sincerely wrong on many levels. When people develop this arrogant attitude that just because they have the Holy Spirit that everything they say is right, that's how false teachings over-run the churches. That's what caused the Great Apostacy.

Churchianity has been infiltrated with every kind of false teaching from the very beginning. It's a huge monkey wrench Satan has thrown into the game. That's why there is so much disagreement over theology. The true truth-seekers will be discerning and not just go along with the whatever the status quo is all the time. And when they find what they believe to be the truth, they still won't hold it dogmatically, on the chance that they are sincerely wrong.

BTW, your sig is hillarious. :D

thats the problem. many people claim to be led by the spirit but evidently not everyone is, so who're the people not listening? I would like to think im one of the people listening to what the Holy Spirit says, but who knows maybe im the one who's misguided:confused: .

Remember, we live in a fallen world, we're constantly bombarded by temptations and our own interpretations of Scripture. Christians are not saved based on their interpretation of scripture, granted they've give their life to Christ and repented, so its very possible we'll have many different views. Kind of like someone who has just came to Christ will have a vast different level of relationship with God than a 20 year faithful Christian. Both are saved, but at different levels of relationship with the Lord.

I agree, that signature is fantastic. Nicely done, brother.

after all we can't understand revelation without reading Daniel.
Absolutely right. Too often people try to interpret Revelation without regard to the prophecies in Daniel or in Mathew 24. That's how they come up with junk like progressive parallelism.

Asking, do I want to know what progressive parallelism is? Probably not! :p

What? Saying the Word is foolish...

Sorry, I thought this was a Christian forum...

LOL, it is, but you can't come in like a bull-in-a-china-shop and expect us all to bow down to your revelation and wisdom. Prove it first and then maybe we'll bow down, but don't hold your breath! :D

Just begin by posting your opinion! Then we can decide if it's gospel. :)

I didn't give an opinion. I just pointed out that where the Bible says that many will run about and "waste time" and others will know the signs of the times and be wise, that Biblically speaking, according to the reality of the new covenant, we as Christians are the wise. According to the Word, we have the wisdom of Christ. If we lack wisdom, we can ask and God gives liberally to us (James 1.5)

I never asked any one to bow down to me... what a strange thing to say. Utterly bizarre.

Cheers,
Zzub

Firstly, I didn't elevate myself to the level of Christ. He elevated me... I sit with him in heavenly places because of what He did, not because of what I did. It is not arrogant to agree with the Word, it is arrogant to deny it.

Secondly, just because I believe in dispensations doesn't mean I believe that God did not form a covenant with Abraham and a subsequent Covenant with Christ. Sorry I don't fit into your theological boxes...

Believing in Christ does not automatically make you God. It signifies your acceptance of his sacrife and your agreement to trade your life for the next life, the eternal life. We are to spread the good news, the gospel, but we are not to walk around acting like we're a bunch of infallable wise holier-than-thou prophets, that is arrogance.

Believing in Christ doesn't make you God, but it does make you redeemed, righteous, holy, wise. It does make you a friend of Christ. It does make you a son of the Most High. It does make you pure. It does make you one with a purpose and a destiny. It does give you access to the Holy Spirit of the living God, it does mean that the greater One than the one in the world lives in you. It does mean you are a king. It does mean you reign in life as a king in righteousness. It does make you a priest. It does make you God's field, God's building, the body of the Lord Jesus Christ. It does make you anointed on the earth. It does mean that you can lay your hands on the sick and they recover. It does mean you can cast out demons, that you have authority over all the works of the devil. It does mean that you are complete in Christ. It does mean that you have exceeding great power inside you. It does mean that you are a co-heir with Christ. It does mean that the love of the Father is lavished upon you, it does mean that you share the glory of the Son, that you are alive together with Him and seated in Heavenly places with Him. It does mean that you have overcome the world and that you sit enthroned in heaven. It does mean that you can ask whatever you will in the name of the Jesus and the Father will give it to you.

Being a Christian is wonderful. Not a cause to be arrogant, without Him I can do nothing. But I am certainly not arrogant enough to argue with the Almighty when He promises me that I can do all things in Him.

Cheers,
ZZub
