  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Are we missing something about the pandemic?

Are we researching why so many have few or no symptoms after being infected? Perhaps we should gather some information about their habits and general health. Do they hold the key to mitigating this pandemic?

Our immune systems are quite effective at protecting us from disease if we are in good general health. But how many are actually in good health? It is estimated that the average American has several illnesses each year, including colds and flues. If this is true we are in terrible health, and were ripe for more serious diseases all along. And that most Americans are either sick, recovering from sickness, or are about to be sick again.

This is apart from the chronic diseases that so many Americans suffer from.
https://www.fightchronicdisease.org...sisofChronicDiseaseintheUSfactsheet_81009.pdf

So it's no surprise that this disease is so destructive.

Chronically overweight or morbidly obese.
Limited physical activity or exercise.
Oversized portions of food laden with fat, salt, and sugar.
Genetically modified food devoid of nutrients and mystery chemicals you can’t pronounce.
Mindless eating (often in front television).

highly unusual in our family and among elderly relatives. Our ancestors lived at the edge of civilization and many thrived on wild plants, never tasting pharmaceuticals.

At 30+ of age, many in the family would no longer catch flu and colds. Ancestors in utter poverty, thriving in near wild state, natural selection was actually a strong factor. In the wild / extreme poverty, if you have weak immune system, you would likely die in childhood, never passing that gene with weak immune system.

We have pretty good genes as a result of it.

It might show this virus is targeting certain individuals and exacerbating existing conditions in order to kill them. Like wolves thinning a herd, taking out the weakest from behind.

You would think the pharmaceutical industry would be taking this more serious as they lose their bread and butter from treating these people for various conditions instead of curing them. Perhaps there is a new agenda at play as the medical industrial complex takes over from the old military one or perhaps they have joined forces. The US military was present after all at the military games in Wuhan just prior to the outbreak.

This doesn't make one immune to new pathogens. Look how devastating European illnesses were to the Native Americans.

We’re overmedicating ourselves and weakening our immune system in the process. A little discomfort sends many to the medicine cabinet. Diet, exercise and natural remedies are better alternatives.

I make homemade syrups to fortify my body and regularly consume diverse herbs, spices and other foods without additives. That’s the primary reason I started canning and making my own baked goods. To eliminate the preservatives and use natural items in their place.

Convenience fostered dependency. Freeing yourself from its clutches requires a willingness to respect the growing season and put in the work. With summer approaching you can outfit your pantry with organic food for little or nothing.

The key is planning and making modest exchanges. Start with condiments (ketchup, salsa, mustard, bbq sauce, jams, pickles, peppers in oil, etc.) and add more as the season progresses. I’ve tried my hand at liqueurs, flavored syrups (for Italian sodas) and ginger beer. I’m looking forward to adding cider and wine to the list.

We’ve lost our ability to utilize simple items and fill our homes with chemicals unnecessarily. Water and essential oil are natural deodorizers. You don’t need Febreeze. Dried herbs and peels are perfect for potpourri and bath products.

They’ve conditioned us to spend and neglect our industriousness. Our time savers are bleeding us dry and harming the body and home environment. If we returned to simpler practices we’d see noticeable improvements in each.

That keeps bugs at bay and fattens the wallet.

And once upon a time vaccines introduced dead viruses into our bodies so that it could produce immunity naturally. Today they want to bypass the natural process by introducing substances into our bodies that will do the work for us that our body already does, at a premium. As Tom Petty once sang... 'As we celebrate mediocrity all the boys upstairs want to see, how much you'll pay for what you used to get for free'.

The COVID-19 virus is sickening and killing a disproportionate number of Native Americans and the Federal government is doing next to nothing about it. Unfortunately this is how it's always been. When will this neglect stop?

There is a tremendous amount of research going on right now. I haven't read the technical papers myself (it's not my research field), but surely identifying high- and low-risk groups of people must be part of the research.

I was in Hong Kong the entire duration of SARS pandemic, in Saudi during MERS, and now, housed in a hospital full of Covid patients for nearly 1 month. I only wore facemask for Covid. No protective gear at all for Sars and Mers. I never even take vitamins. Pharma can't make money with me :(

Thank God, I didn't get sick. Not even colds. Great genes at work!

Good thing you have good genes, since you seem to have a knack for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. :)

Wonder if there are any independent studies going on not connected to profit

Metabolism?

There are studies going back 40 years.

But, big pharma, big money, monopoly and all that.

There is one drug, cannot recall the name,

it brings in millions.

It is used to bring down high blood pressure,

and it does but at the same time reduces greatly immune
system.

Add to that many are on a list of medications daily,

Not all cure just hide the symtoms.

The virus simply isn't as dangerous as it was first believed/feared to be due to inaccurate prediction models and a lack of knowledge about the nature of this novel coronavirus. The overwhelming majority of those who contract SARS-CoV-2 will experience mild symptoms (if any) and will recover. It doesn't matter how many people get infected with it: Hardly any of those who do will get sick enough to require hospitalization, or will die from it.

Unfortunately, the government's overreaction to the perceived threat has put politicians in a tough position to back out of. Nobody wants to take the blame for even a small percentage of the population dying from COVID-19, even though we all know that the lockdown is causing more devastation to more lives than the virus itself, and that it isn't sustainable.

The government has taken up a bizarre, quixotic crusade against death itself that it cannot possibly win, and whose casualities will far outnumber the dead of the virus.

You are much more likely to die from some other cause than you are from COVID-19. But the publicity this virus is receiving, and the fear mongering of the media, as well as the padding of COVID death numbers by doctors who list this virus as the cause of death when it actually is not, for financial incentives, make it seem like it's a lot more dangerous than it really is.

A baby is at a much higher risk of being killed in the womb of its mother in this country (USA) than most of the population is of being killed by SARS-CoV-2. (You won't see that stat on the news.) The government doesn't care about protecting any of those vulnerable people. The abortion clinics are running as usual in the midst of the lockdown.

If the media were reporting on any other disease or cause of death in the same way that they are reporting on COVID, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, people would be as terrified of that as they are of this virus.

Death is a part of life. We used to accept this. People die from influenza in large numbers every year (despite there being a vaccine for it), among other causes, and the world doesn't shut down on account of it.

And if the concern is saving the vulnerable from the possibility of death, why not focus the protective measures on them instead of quarantining the healthy and forcing them to live like the most vulnerable? This lockdown doesn't make sense.

These measures were put in place because of our ignorance about the deadliness of the virus and the fear of it overwhelming the healthcare system. We prepared for the worst, and our fears (thankfully) proved to be unjustified as we learned more about the virus. Yet the government is still behaving as though we're dealing with the bubonic plague or the Spanish flu.

What are we waiting for in order to return to life as usual, the same way we get on during flu season each year? Are we waiting for people to stop dying of anything? For some vaccine that will help a little at best, like the flu vaccine does?

As Dennis Prager aptly said, "When it's safe" means never.

I think it is an important perspective to remember it isn't "The" government, it is all governments that are restricting movement for safety. This is not a U.S. thing. We are just locking down as are most countries in the world.

This lockdown really depends on where you are in Mississippi the governor announced a stay at home. But no one (except a few) really stayed at home. i have (along with the majority of Ms) been going and doing all i needed to do. the mayor in our town closed the parks but everyone still used and went to the parks for walking, etc...

Exactly, it makes no sense at all. This house arrest (because that is what it really is) can be more harmful because we could get more sick on the other side. No one listens or uses reason any more. We are not on the slippery slope of losing our freedoms, we have already slide down to the end and this virus was the excuse needed.

What are we waiting for in order to return to life as usual, the same way we get on during flu season each year? Are we waiting for people to stop dying of anything? For some vaccine that will help a little at best, like the flu vaccine does?

Exactly. The more we wait the worse it will be

Good thing you have good genes, since you seem to have a knack for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. :)

It's really uncanny how I ended up where I shouldn't. There's a lot more things than just exceptional pandemics like earthquakes, extinct volcanoes suddenly activating, near misses by tornadoes.

Hope the next pandemic doesn't have a 95+% mortality rate!
