  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Fundamentalist believe in strict interpretation and practice of the word.
But, how many of us really do this?

For example, in the New Testament it states that women should pray with their heads covered and forbids the wearing of gold and jewelery.

There are many other examples and this is only one.

good question, good point

Some things in Scripture are matters of custom and culture, for example, I've never met anyone who sacrifices meat to idols. From the example above, I think the main underlying message we can extract is an exhortation to be modest, and you would still have a point, too many Christians, especially younger ones, do not practice modesty, I believe men should also be modest as well, but I also think groups like the Amish take the modesty issue to extremes. My two cents.

The church I was going to up until I moved practiced that. It's a blessing on any church to follow the model Paul gave us as closely as possible.
