If there is alien life then the universe must be buzzing with radio activity for millions of years yet nothing not even a commercial.
an alien lifeform that had intelligence could be 500 million years advanced so that gives a lot of space for signal to reach us (more than enough in our own galaxy) yet we only receive cosmic produced noise. Chances are that we are alone.
Perhaps God made the Earth his unique place.
Unless micro-organisms can use thier own teeny weeny radio devices and engage in teeny weeny radio chat shows, then I don't think anyone is expecting radio signals from that kind of life, I guess you were talking about intelligent life. In that case you must take into consideration many things, such as the amount of time it would take for radio signals to reach us, the chances of intelligent ET life transmitting radio signals that we can detect and many other variables. They could of probably sent us a signal back in the 1800's but we wouldn't of been able to detect it. We have only had radio technology for about 80 years(I think) and compare that to the amount of time humans have been around then you will see that intelligent ET life has only had a small window of opportunity to send us a signal that we would be able to listen to.
What I find strange though, is the fact that if God created this massive universe with billions of galaxies full of billions of solar systems and only used 1 ickle planet to tease his only creations on...then whats the point of creating all those lovely planets orbiting other stars? Isn't that a bit of a waste of space? Or where they created so the hubble telescope can give me even prettier desktop wallpapers? Anyway, if I was God I would consider chaning the size of the universe, who wants a load of spare dark matter and vacuum anyway?
