games can often be a source of relaxation and stress relief for many people. I knew a guy once who was very violent, a friend handed him a game a while back and he has since become much less violent since playing as it relieves stress for him.
however like anything else to much can be bad, so it should be used in moderation.
Do you guys think that God would approve of us spending our time mindlessly playing video games? I have been thinking about this alot lately. Video games can become preety addicting and I know that God would not approve of us caring more about a game then honoring him through service and good works. Any ideas?
"Mindless" is hardly the description. There are numerous mental health benefits to video games.Do you guys think that God would approve of us spending our time mindlessly playing video games?
Awesome!!!Oh, I love mad libs,

I answer your question with a question: does playing video games mean that you're ignoring the needs of others? It CAN, but certainly not in all cases. Imagine coming home at night after work, dinner is finished, your wife is reading in her chair, you have no kids, and decide to sit down for a few rounds on your Turbographx-16.Answer this question.
You ignore the needs of others for the sake of your entertainment, how is this not breaking of the 2nd commandment that Jesus gave?

How in the world do you consider that ignoring others??? All you're doing is committing logical fallacy here.
So, watching some sports after dinner, playing a few rounds of games (no, I do NOT play for hours on end. I resent you for assuming that I do in your last post. I literally don't have time for that.), or playing some cards is the cause of the current state of the world? Get real. This is why the world is in the current state that it is in, because christians are nothing like Jesus in their actions.
You'll be looking forever. We aren't called to live like Christ. We're called to live for Christ. Big difference.I've spent the past 3 years looking for Christians who want to live like Christ, I have not found 1 person.
How is the life I described to you "living like a fool"? Is working 66 hours a week in order to provide for your family, and then taking some time to relax when you're at home in the form of gaming (and watching a bit of Japanese TV, and Bible study, AND taking care for your sick father-in-law AND studying Koine Greek for a masters degree, "living like a fool"? Get off your high and arrogant horse. Now.If you want to continue living like the fool, you will be punished like him as well
