I have no idea what they are they almost look like they are in the pupae stage. Dug out of the ground?? If so, I’d be wondering I’d they were immature tomato worms. Are these bad or good worms ?

Yeah they did not look like anything good to me. I’ve never seen them though. But I’m obsessed with tomato worms because I’m obsessed with tomatoes. I thought they would turn green and crawl up the plants to munch them. LolThose look like grub worms. They can wreak havoc on a root system. If they become June bugs, they're a nuisance. If they become Japanese beetles they are really horrible for leafy plants. Kill them all.

I’ve done that with catalpa worms.Ask them if they'd like to go fishing with you?![]()

Catfish love catalpa worms. I’ve never used a grub worm. But obviously I do not know one when I see one. I do now though!Anything like that will work. I think grubs are more popular for fishing due to availability.

I’ve seen the beetles but never the worm.Uh, oh, the grubs are no longer safe.
"Grubs eventually turn into adult Beetles and emerge from soil to mate and lay eggs. Most Scarab Beetles have a one-year life cycle; June Beetles have a three-year cycle."
They look like beetle larvae. I dig them up from time to time. I understand that they feed on roots but they do not seem to do any serious damage. Are these bad or good worms ?

I'll buy beneficial nematodes just for the soil. Will get rid of the grubs.Yeah, those are grubs, not worms. Squish them when you see them or treat the soil with milky spore disease or beneficial nematodes.
