I must insist that you respect context. You repeatedly argue that Galatians 3:24 describes the dynamics of how an individual comes to faith. That is simply not possible, given the context. One more time - with relevant bits highlighted:
Hello expos4ever, this is only repetition of what has already been responded to in detail earlier which you have not responded to or addressed the scriptures provided showing both within scripture and chapter context that does not support your teachings.
Ok let's look at your claims that context has not been considered and see if this is a true or a false statement? Your argument is that Galatians 3:23-25 in not talking about how an individual comes to faith. Let's examine this claim by asking some simple questions and providing the answers with scripture..
ROMANS 3:20, ROMANS 7:7, JAMES 2:11 all confirm that God's LAW (10 Commandments) give us a KNOWLEDGE OF SIN if broken.
Your argument is that Galatians 3:23-25 in not talking about how an individual comes to faith. That is God's LAW is not our teacher that leads us to Christ that we might be justified by faith.
Now in relation to the above claims that God's LAW is not our teacher when God's WORD clearly says that it is, please answer these questions below with scripture alone...
1. IF there is no LAW how can we have a KNOWLEDGE of what sin is?
2. IF we have no knowledge of what sin is how do we know that we are sinners?
3. If we do not know that we are sinners how do we know we need a Saviour?
4. If we have no Saviour and we are all sinners but do not know it how do know it how are we lead to Christ that we can be justified by Faith?
Now let's connect the scriptures verse by verse which you simply ignored from the previous post yout making here..
.................
GALATIANS 3:17-25
[17], And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot cancel, that it should make the promise of none effect.
Indeed we are under the NEW COVENANT promise to LOVE. (Hebrews 8:10-12)
[18], For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
The promise of Salvation from sin is God's promise received by FAITH (Romans 3:22; 1:17)
[19] Why then the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
Now careful here brother. What law is being referred to in v19, God's LAW (10 Commandments or the Shadow laws for remission of sin from the MOSAIC BOOK OF THE COVENANT?
What law was ordained by Angels in the hand of a mediator [μεσίτης GREEK means A GO BETWEEN]? God's 10 Commandments were not given by Angels in the hands of a mediator (go between). God's 10 Commandments were spoken by God himself to his people and written by God alone on two tables of stone.
The BOOK OF THE COVENANT and the laws for remission of sin however was written and spoken by MOSES [Mediator] as directed by God through Angels
In the OLD COVENANT when someone sinned (broke any of God's 10 Commandments) in order to recieve FORGIVENESS of their sins they had to provide sin offerings to GOD [Leviticus 16].
These laws for remission of sin were from the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT not the 10 Commandments. Many of the Shadow laws from the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT for remission of sin were prophetic in nature pointing to Jesus as our true offering for SIN and God's plan of salvation under the NEW COVENANT. God's 10 Commandments were not ordained through Angels and given in the hands of a mediator
[19] ...until the seed would come to whom the promise had been made.
Another words the sin offereings were to continue until the seed should come. The seed is to the promise to Abraham and his seed representing Christ to which all the sin offerings pointed to from the MOSAIC BOOK OF THE COVENANT.
When Jesus died for our sins the temple curtain was torn in two, meaning no more sin offerings. "Until the seed should come" All the sin offerings were fullfilled and pointed to Jesus as the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world.
..............
NOW WE HAVE COVERED V17-22 LETS LOOK AT GALATIANS 3:23-25 VERSE BY VERSE
..............
[23], But before faith came, we were kept UNDER THE LAW, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
v23, says before faith has come it says we were kept "UNDER THE LAW", shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE "UNDER THE LAW"?
ROMANS 3:19-20 [19], Now we know that WHATSOEVER THINGS THE LAW SAYS, IT SAYS TO THEM WHO ARE UNDER THE LAW: THAT EVERY MOUTH MAY BE STOPPED AND ALL THE WORLD MAY BECOME GUILTY BEFORE GOD. [20], Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: FOR BY THE LAW IS THE KNOWLEDGE OF SIN.
1 JOHN 3:4 [4], Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: FOR SIN IT THE TRANGRESSION OF THE LAW.
[ANSWER] So to be "UNDER THE LAW" in this case means to be GUILTY BEFORE GOD of breaking the LAW (sin). FOR BY THE LAW IS THE KNOWLEDGE OF SIN and this is what God's LAW teaches us. That we are all sinners in need of a Saviour
..............
[24], Therefore the law was our schoolmaster [GREEK παιδαγωγός means tutor; instructor; teacher; schoolmaster] to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
v24 the GREEK word used for your versions rendition of guardian [I do not know how they get that translation]. The KJV is Schoolmaster which is a better translation to the original GREEK word used which is παιδαγωγός which means tutor; instructor; teacher; schoolmaster.
So v24 says that the LAW was our TEACHER, TUTOR, SCHOOLMASTER to bring us unto Christ that we might be justified by FAITH.
SO WE ASK THE QUESTION, WHAT DOES THE LAW TEACH US?
We touched on it earlier...
ROMANS 3:20 [20], Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: FOR BY THE LAW IS THE KNOWLEDGE OF SIN.
[ANSWER] v23 and v24 says being "UNDER THE LAW" means to be guilty before God of SIN. God's LAW is TEACHING US what SIN is. GOD'S LAW teaches us by giving us a KNOWLEDGE of what sin is. God's LAW shows us that we are all sinners in need of a Savior. THE LAW is our TEACHER, TUTOR, SCHOOLMASTER that teachers us that we are sinners it gives us a KNOWLEDGE of what SIN is and BRINGS US TO CHRIST that we might be justified by FAITH.
This is the purpose of God's LAW in the Gospel. It teacher us that we are all sinners in need of a Savior that we might be justified by Faith.
* IF there is NO LAW then we have no KNOWLEDGE of what SIN is (NO TEACHER, SCHOOLMASTER)
* IF we have no KNOWLEDGE of SIN we do not KNOW that we are all sinners in need of a Savior.
* IF we have no need of a Savior then we have no Salvation.
* If we have no Salvation then we are all lost because we are still in our sins and the scripture is fulfilled
ROMANS 3:12-13 [12], For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; [13], For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
So v14 God's LAW is our TEACHER that gives us a KNOWLEDGE of what SIN is and lead us to Christ that we might be justified by FAITH.
..............
[25], But after faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. [GREEK παιδαγωγός means tutor; instructor; teacher; schoolmaster]
Final section then we will tie it all together.
v25 NOW when FAITH has COME we are no longer UNDER THE LAW, TEACHER, TUTOR, SCHOOLMASTER
WHEN FAITH IS COME WHY ARE WE NO LOGER "UNDER THE LAW" TEACHER?
[ANSWER] Because the purpose of the LAW is to bring us to show us we are all sinners in need of a Savior. It brings us to Christ that we might be justified by FAITH. When we have FAITH in God's WORD we have FORGIVENESS. We are no longer GUILTY and CONDEMNED by the LAW, THE BLOOD of CHRIST Cleanses US from ALL SIN. No longer being guilty we are no longer UNDER THE LAW BEING CONDEMNED by it.
..............
CONCLUSION: Galatians 3:23-25 does not say God's LAW (10 Commandments) are ABOLISHED. The scriptures say when FAITH has come we are no longer "UNDER THE LAW" as a schoolmaster; teacher or tutor that show us our sins because we have been forgiven our sins by faith in the precious blood of Christ.
Now expos4ever, we have gone through both the within scripture and chapter CONTEXT and provided other supporting scriptures and drawn your attention to questions that do not support your interpretation of the scriptures in Galatians 3. Your claim that there is no context has been shown to be a false claim in this post and the scriptures showing the within scripture and chapter CONTEXT prove that your claim that Galatians 3:23-25 in not talking about how an individual comes to faith or that God's LAW is not our teacher that leads us to Christ that we might be justified by faith is a false one.
This is only posted in all fue respect as a blessing and help in your understanding of God's WORD.
