Me too! Everybody needs a good Bible thrown at them!

A Catholic Bible at that!! :p

muhahahaha!

OUCH! Catholic Bibles weigh more, BA!

Seriously, though, it's not usually the Bible I'm throwing at them; just my menopausal hurt feelings and ill temper. :sigh:

An interesting dialogue........

I think it is save to say that there are wackos on both sides of any issue. The Catholic and Protestant debates are no exception. Unfortunately, as someone already said, we frequently see the wackos of the other side and attribute them as representatives of the whole.

I have debated several Catholics on doctrine. Not once, in any of these debates has there been any doubt in my mind as to their salvation.

I hope that feeling was reciprocated.....

Adm,
An excellent explanation of Protestant beliefs... Well done.

Dear Plan and Tigersnare:

I agree with you. When we let passions overwhelm us we cannot see clearly anymore. However, if we respond with love and kindness to all, it makes for a more peaceful board here.

Difficulties arise when we perceive that someone has said something wrong. Sometimes our perceptions are flawed or we have a spirit of unforgiveness and deliberately want to see something bad that isn't there. Othertimes, people have dyslexia and just make mistakes. I've made plenty. It's surprises me when I think I've said something nice to find out I'm being accused of saying something else. Then there are those trigger words or words with double meanings. Then a person can become unglued and won't forgive. Why does human communication have to be so complicated? O Lord save us.
I'm dyslexic now and sometimes make horrifying mistakes which change the meaning of my posts and PMs to the opposite of what I intended and sometimes I can't immediately perceive them. This is why underneath posts of mine which only say something like, "Btw, great avatar!" reads "edited by Plan 9 on blah, blah, blah."
I belong to one forum which also records the number of times we edit a post, in which case my "Great avatar!" post may say underneath it "edited by Plan 9 3 times". That's so embarrassing!

Personally, I wish we didn't have those reputation points as it serves as a distraction. I can see a benefit in that it might make us aware of other people's feelings, so hopefully we won't offend again. But on the flip side, some people will abuse it and will give out bad reputations in the heat of anger.
I agree with you that there is too much abuse of the rep system, but here lately, it has been the only thing keeping me posting on some difficult threads for me; I been getting positive rep from lurkers, while trying to deal with answering posts I found hurtful.

Plan, I hope you had a very happy birthday.
Elizabeth, I had a very happy birthday and I wasn't expecting to, primarily due to kind birthday wishes I received at this forum and on other. :)

Boldly proclaim this:

Yes, Catholics are saved

What a shock some protestants are going to get when they approach the pearly gates! LOL Low and behold, it's already full of Catholics and Orthodox saints and ... hopefully you all too.
???

"you all" being whom?

Bruce, since you're so adamant that Catholics should be excluded from the PRE threads, perhaps you should be setting an example yourself? ;)
Harrumph.

The PRE Forum is SWAMPED by RCC's and Orthy's. It is barely even a PRE forum anymore. In fact, the forum is barely peopled at all by real PRE's, many many have PM'ed me that they don't post there because of this.

I'm barely here in this forum, the One Bread Forum, at all. When here, I'm ALWAYS respectful, careful, follow the rules, and TRY only to put things here that the RCC's might actually want to see that I find on the nets.

However, this comment really struck me as uncalled for. The obvious BIAS that PRE's "might get into" heaven was over the top if you want my two cents. Had a PRE made this comment in the PRE forum, some Orthy or RCC moderator would have warned the poster, and the thread might have been totally shut down as so many have been over there, when a poster made comments that INFERRED that another poster was not a Christian, or some aspect that INFERRED as this one did, that the ONLY way to heaven was via some denominational path.

St. Peter might have the "Golden Keys" but Yeshua has the lock that PRE's have opened BEFORE Peter can open the door to admit, ALL who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

Bruce, I found nothing offensive in the post which bothers you so very much and your rant here is a fine example of why I no longer particpate in the PRE forum. My unwillingness to participate there has nothing to do with the Catholic posts there and everything to do with the PRE posts.
If this is an example of careful, respectful post which Catholics want to read, then I'll pass on the possibility of accidentally reading any disrespectful posts in the PRE forum.
I was harrassed for giving my opinion there and I'm not Catholic; I only had the temerity to politely disagree.

The rules say that we may ask for clarification of your beliefs, but not argue.

It says nothing about how many RCC's and Orthy's can be present.
Agreed. I read that, too. :)

3) Non-Catholic members (eg. Protestant members) can only post fellowship posts here or posts to ask a question regarding Catholic doctrine. Once the question is answered, there shall be no debate over the answer in this forum by the Non-Catholic. Any debate posts by Non-Catholics will be deleted or moved to the Interdenominational Doctrine Debate forum. In other words, only Catholic members can debate here.
