Well this is good news, we can agree there have been major climate swings in the past that has nothing to do with us causing it :)
For one, that was only a regional warm spike.

For another, proving that forest fires can happen naturally doesn't make arson impossible.

Don't believe everything you hear. Were you there and did you see it???
Or did you hear it and just believe?
Creationist Playbook, page 2.

Give credence to the very few "experts" who support your position, and ignore, disparage, denigrate and question the reliability and honesty of the MILLIONS of scientists, technicians and students around the world who don't.

Heck, the "were you there" question is a basic creationist "debating" line.

I'm with Subduction Zone; if you have to argue like a creationist, it's more than likely that your "science" is about as good as creationism is.

These global warming scientist were there in the middle of summer to do research.
Oh, the irony. LOL

One has to question just how much experience the captain of a Chinese icebreaker has of Arctic ice. On the other hand icebreakers frequently get stuck.

You DO realize that, despite climate change melting significantly more ice than has been melted in the past (see the graphs that have already been presented on this thread) not all of the ice in the Arctic melts every summer, don't you?

Creationist playbook, page 32.

Grasp at every straw that you think supports your position, even if it's easily refuted.

So an audio visual enhanced version of: "If the climate is warmer, then why does it still get cold!? LOL!"

Do you realize what happens after a ice age? The climate has always changed, But leave it to politicians and government funded scientist to find a way to create a tax out of thin air.

We are not discussing policies about taxes. We are discussing facts about the arctic ice.

So Antarctic ice doesn't matter?

Certainly it does, however this thread is about "Arctic ice at record low." It is definitely not about taxation. Too many people on the denialist side are transparent in their motives. They are worried that they will be called upon to pay more taxes, therefore climate change isn't happening. But this is not even a fallacy. It's garbage. So let's just stick with the facts. Once those are established, we can later move on to arguing about what the appropriate response to the facts might be.

Greenland's ice sheet has melted to a point of no return, according to new study

"The ice sheet is now in this new dynamic state, where even if we went back to a climate that was more like what we had 20 or 30 years ago, we would still be pretty quickly losing mass," Ian Howat, co-author of the study and a professor at Ohio State University, said.
Greenland's ice sheet dumps more than 280 billion metric tons of melting ice into the ocean each year, making it the greatest single contributor to global sea level rise, according to Michalea King, the lead author of the study and researcher at Ohio State University.
The ice loss has been so massive in recent years, she said, that it has caused a measurable change in the gravitational field over Greenland.

So why do wealthy democrat politicians continue to buy beachfront properties for millions of dollars? and yes this would include Al Gore and the Obama's

That is not good news, i.e., that Greenland ice sheet melt has passed the point of no return.

Looks as though the impact of climate change has also passed a point of no return.

I was reading a scientific journal that claims; that the Artic ice cover will be gone by the year 2035.

It all seems to be happening quicker than predicted.

You don't see the connection? Look up A Gore's Wealth.

Go make your own thread if that's what you want to talk about.

So why do wealthy democrat politicians continue to buy beachfront properties for millions of dollars?

They don't expect to live to the year 2100?

True.

It is the speed of the recent climate change that is the problem. You can look at vikings settling in Greenland
during medieval times and think that the climate was warmer back then.

Though you would be right, the higher temperatures in Greenland were only as warm as the twentieth century temperatures. The warming in Greenland is continuing to increase past these twentieth century temperatures.

You need to examine climate change from reputable sites. There is no doubt whatsoever that mankind is driving climate change.

Can't happen quickly enough if you ask me.
