I agree with His Excellency, the bishops were suspiciously quick to pull the plug on everything when it wasn't necessary and unfortunately I've been mistrustful of what backroom machinery might be behind all of it.

I don't care what the covid worshipers say. The most sensible strategy that was never employed anywhere was inform everyone that if they were in a vulnerable category then they're welcome to respond in a manner they're comfortable with (i.e. stay home). Churches should've otherwise remained open, with the Sunday obligation in tact for those outside the vulnerable category. I remember my priest basically said as much a few months ago that the Sunday obligation was dispensed for everyone, just the vulnerable who were at the most risk for covid, otherwise everyone else was still expected to be there on Sundays.

The charge that those of us who think this way "want other people to get sick and die" is a total straw man fallacy. They can be responsible for themselves, others shouldn't be forced to conform their lifestyle to the small percentage of vulnerable people. Liberty is the freedom to take calculated risks.

Yet it was the most vulnerable that were left to die because of neglect by the government. In Massachusetts a veterans home for the elderly was a killing ground. Over 70 die from Covid.

Nearly 70 dead in ‘horrific’ outbreak at veterans home in Massachusetts

Instead the government shut down the whole economy and the lives of everyone and the church rolled over.

That's so weird, I totally forgot about that part of the movie and yet just the other day I was quoting... "I got a tiny head?!"
