Apostolic succession
The real presence of Christ in the Eucharist
Scripture and Tradition
Infant baptism
Faith and Works for salvation
Communion of Saints
Threefold ministry of Bishops, priests and deacons
Eternal Virginity of Mary
Intercession of Mary and Saints
Prayer for the dead

etxc. etc.

And that is the problem. Those that you listed are not biblical. You have to be able to rely on extrabiblical material to believe these.

It's worth quite a bit, HBM. If Jesus Christ was to come back during our lifetime, the only writings that we would have to make sure that we are not being decieved is the scriptures. I have a big problem with extrabiblical materials because the anti-christ will have a field day with these. The only writings that we have for discernment between false teachings and the truth is the Word of God.

Your opinions do count.. Yours and IAA's love of the word and command of the scriptures is refreshing. When the Holy Spirit has touched you it is a beutiful thing.

You say that everything must be in scriptures. Well are you aware that 7 books are taken out of your bible. All the books that explain purgatory and alot of other teachings of our church. Was that part of Gods word not good enough for you that you had to take it out?

didnt you hear? those books werent added until the Council of Trent, and that perfectly explains why the Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Churches, which have nothing at all to do with Trent, also have those books in their Bibles ...

You have a misunderstanding. The Apocrypha books were never considered canon until the Council of Trent in the 1800's. They were added to the Catholic bible to counteract the reformation. The books of the Apocrypha are wonderful books to read but they have errors and things that are only tought in them. The Jewish did not consider them to be scriptural with good reason. At any rate, books that have errors cannot be considered inspired scripture because God does not make mistakes, so to include them is in fact saying that the Word of God is not inerrant.

Yes it was for a Good reason so that Salvation could come to the gentiles. For Jesus came to His own first and His own did not receive Him. But for those who did gave He the power to become the sons of God.
