Aren't you the one who's demanding to know the reasons why God does things the way He does and not the way you think it should be done (i.e. apparitions of Mary and not Paul)?
wasn't DEMANDING anything friend...ease up on the attitude. I don't think these appraritons are of Mary to be honest...so...there you have it.

That's a possibility. Heck, I think most "visions" are hallucinations. Even visions of Jesus.

Well, Elijah and Moses appeared on Earth for the Transfiguration.
I think it'd be awesome to be an apparition on Earth that draws people toward Christ. Heck, if I could save the soul of a loved one by appearing to them in a vision, I would!

Then Moses, Elijah, and Mary came to the world as ghosts. Well, not Elijah, 'cause he was assumed entirely into Heaven.

I'm sure I wouldn't be able to come to Earth on my own accord, just as I'm sure Moses and Elijah didn't come back down to Earth on theirs.

Or scare them to death.

I'm sure I'd have as much of a chance to scare them to death as Jesus or an angel did. I mean, it's not like if somebody saw Jesus appear in front of them, they'd be able to act all nonchalant and say, "Hey, Jesus. What's up?"

Hi. I debate a lot with the Muslims and here was a thread on Jesus changing a Muslim's life.
The only problem is I don't know if it was a vision or something he read or heard about. Pretty interesting. Peace.

How Lord Jesus Changed Radical Muslim Khalil's Life

Quote from Christian: Please take the time to watch this great video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lp_9OuOuzic

quote Muslim: Anyways, the video he posted was odd. Khalil makes false claims regarding Jesus (pbuh) in the Qur'an which are not true. There are numerous verses which would prove that he is either deluded or just chose to ignore the fact.

The thread really has been busy since I last checked.

A word about Moses and Elijah -
These two are scriptural exceptions to the rule. Elijah was taken up alive by God. Moses was apparently resurrected (see Jude 1) between his death and the transfiguration. Another exception would be Enoch. Some graves were opened when Jesus died (Matt 27). They came up after Jesus' resurrection and actually witnessed to people. We are not told specifically what happened thereafter, but it is my suspicion that those were taken to heaven and are the 24 elders before the throne (Revelation).

I know of no other exceptions allowed by scripture. All others are awaiting a resurrection from the dead.

Keep in mind these principles:

Rom 4
17... He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were.

Even though the dead saints are really dead, in God's eyes they are considered alive. Why? It is a certainty that they will be resurrected to immortality.

Our (eternal) life is in Christ - it is not naturally within ourselves.

Colossians 3
3...your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

1 John 5
11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

Other saints have appeared besides Mary, St. Patrick has been seen a few times, the Archangels, other Saints have been seen through the ages as well as Jesus, but Mary was the most vissable throught the 20th century
And that is why there are more Catholics than non-Catholics and I wonder how many Muslims have seen the vision of her. I may have to ask them about that.
This link was posted on a Muslim board I was on awhile back concerning "Jinns"

http://www.islaam.com/Article.aspx?id=75

(Benjamin B. Wolman. ed., Handbook of Parapsychology, New York, Van Nostrand Reinhold Company, 1977, pp, 579-580)] with those seeking information among the idol-worshippers, Christians, Jews, and heretical Muslims driven astray by the devils.

This has happened to many people some of whom are known to me. The devils will often respond while talking the form of the one besought, whether dead or alive, even if he is unaware of those who call on him. Those committing Shirk in this fashion believe that the person beseeched has actually replied when in fact it is the JINN replying. This frequently happens to Christians who call on those whom they edify, whether dead or alive, like George or other holy figures [ROME, Feb 24 1989 (AFP) -

A retired Italian roadman Renato Baron claims that he has been seeing and talking to the Virgin Mary for nearly three years now. Visions by Baron and about THIRTY others have attracted tens of thousands of people from Italy, France, Belgium, and West Germany to a hill near Venice, causing huge traffic jams.

I am trying to get the point of this thread.
Do you feel pressued to believe in any apparition?
We Catholics aren't and you certainly are not asked to.

The Church hasn't even begun examining Medjugorje, yet. Mary is still said to be appearing there.

I know many folks including Clergy that haven't accepted these appearances.

Why the curiosity?

And that's probably why people see Jesus. Because it's actually Satan appearing to them trying to get them to worship God, just like Mary does to Catholics.
