I am absolutely willing to be held account and whipped as needed. When this ethics committee meets again, that this will be in regards to this gala.
Thus far it's all conjecture.

But again, nobody is calling for it to be shut down. And even though AOC DOES get attacked a lot by republicans, we don't bray about her being a victim of a witchhunt. We just say "sure. whatever. Let's see".

AOC gets attacked by members of her own party also - because IMHO she deserves it.

That's your prerogative. All that's being said is that if that's what she's in trouble for, it doesn't seem like a big deal. Regardless of what it is though, if the ethics inquiry finds that she broke the rules, she should take her lumps.

The Democrats have investigated and censured their own. This is not particularly surprising.

I am a cynic. When a member of a party goes after their own, I wonder what's in it for them. In this case, I suspect some in her party would love to see her squirm. But, we'll see how far it goes and if there's censure.

Again, nobody has argued to not investigate.

1) We don't care because it's a ticket to a Met Gala and All things considered, it's a small thing. But go ahead and investigate. If she did something she should have rap her knuckles.

2)What I DO find interesting is how you completely mischaracterize Dem's ambivalence about this particular issue. In the same way that the Dem response (on CF) to Hunter's investigation was "Go ahead if he did something wrong". Another example of trying to set up a "Dems do it too" mindset that is undermined by reality.

I honestly cannot remember a time a Trump supporter has EVER said "Go ahead and investigate him and if he did something wrong, he should be charged". It has been "HE'S A VICTIM OF A WITCHHUNT AGAIN" 100% of the time.

3) Of all the things to get in trouble for, I'd argue that going to a Met Gala is WELL BELOW things like "having classified documents in a private residence".

Well....to be fair....Trump was investigated for 6 years of a 4 year presidency.

There's a point where it becomes clear it doesn't matter if the investigation is legitimate....it's going to happen, regardless of anything else.

No real reason to say "go ahead and investigate" under those circumstances.
