  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I really think my problem is that I am not active enough. I spend a lot of time reading for my university course. Before we moved to our present house I was able to walk into town and to the shops and be quite independent, now I have to take the bus or go by car. I really need to work hard on the exercise to rediscover my waistline LOL  :D

For me the best way I've found to exercise during a time of intense study, has been my exercise bike, which is in the spare bedroom alongside a small TV. So I peddle away whilst watching a favourite programme, and have incorporated the activity into my daily routine (weekdays anyway!). I think it has helped towards my recent weight loss, and I find it so convenient not having to go out, or be at a particular place at a set time.

You are right about that ... today we had some fresh ground espresso beans in place of our usual Folgers. This together with a spoon of Torani or Davince Syrup that now comes in sugarfree, an Irish Cream flavor to be precise, was, just as you say; tasted like a delicasey at mid day.

I went back on Atkin's the Monday before Thanksgiving.. My knees had been hurting very badly.. and God told me to go back on that food plan..

After weeks of having aching knees, my pain was gone in 2 days after I surrendered my eating to God - I've lost 13 pounds.

I said God, why now right before the holidays.. He said because I said so.. the next day, Michele (a lady in my office) says she read that the average person puts on 7 pounds between Thanksgiving & Christmas.. Guess God thought I could do without those added pounds.. *smile*

AND focusing on what you can eat is the way to go..

Good for you Glenda, Im happy for you to hear of 13lbs off.

That is a significant loss considering what it would feel like if you had to pick up a 13 lb sack and carry it all day tomorrow. I am quiet amazed when I think of weight loss that way.
