I was born and raised in Texas, in Gatesville. I then moved to Killeen, which is near Ft. Hood (married a soldier), and then spent 3 years in Austin. I LOVED Austin. Oh, and I used to spend my summers, school breaks, and most weekends in the Galveston area. I love that area too. :)

I used to be in texas:cool: , but now I have moved to Baltimore:sorry: . I miss the space in texas, but not the heat. I don't think it has hit 90 since I moved to baltimore 2 weeks ago. I get to open my windows at night cause it goes down to 70.

I'll be back in texas for Christmas and enjoy the warmth:)

It is so hot and dry that my 13 yo dd thinks that north Tx is turning into a desert. It actually used to be a much drier area anyway. My dad told me that years ago they used to be able to use swamp coolers in north tx for air conditioning because it was quite arid. Then all of the lakes were put in for drinking water and the humidity level has risen quite a bit. Did you know there is only one natural lake in the whole state of Tx?
Do any of ya'll know which lake it is?

Lake Travis? Belton Lake? I don't know, I'm just guessing. . . LOL

Edit: Looked it up. It's Caddo Lake. . .
