  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I don't know too many people who know of Apologetix. They take secular songs and give them Christian lyrics. I really like their stuff. They do several genres: country, oldies, rap, etc. Anyone know who I'm talking about?
Yeah, my brother has one of their CDs and I've listened to them alot before, but I'm not really a big fan of parody bands... Brotha Ballew, however, is like their #1 fan ;)

Eh, I don't really like them that much. Kinda corny to me, but whatever.

I do agree but only because I dislike the music genre that copies, uses anothers art for their own gain. Maybe some people enjoy this sort of thing and that's why they keep doing it.
Are they the ones that slaughtered B52's Love Shack??

I've heard them a bit. Actually I've heard a good deal of their stuff, and, while I like the concept, I really don't like listening to them all that much. Some of their songs are a fun twist on the original song, and even have some creative lyrics. My problem is, a lot of them aren't as good, musically, as the original. For example, the parody of Smooth Criminal and of The Devil Went Down To Georgia sound kinda lame. But that's just my opinion.
God bless,
-Greg

It sounds a lot like that one episode of South Park where Cartman forms a Christian Rock band, just giving secular songs Christian lyrics. I haven't listened to them but I'm going to now that you mentioned it. :)

I'm a big fan of Chrisitan music but I still loved that episode! :D
