• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I am about to be divorced for a second time. First husband addicted to Internet porn and other women. My present husband left me so he could have his freedom to date other woman. I have never had much luck with men. I am thinking there are no good men left like in my father and grandfather's day. I am 43 and still no luck.
So I was wondering, any women out there ever thought about switching teams (different gender) because of having such bad relationships with men? I mean I am a christian and I have always been taught this is wrong. I have been attracted to couple of women before but mostly just women on TV. Don't really know if that makes me bi but it isn't the sex that interests me so much as it is the love or emotional relationship that those women have. I like men but I would like to know what real love is at least once in my life. The only men I have ever found are jerks. Does anyone think this is why we see so many older women turning lesbian, because of bad luck with men? I mean maybe they aren't really gay, they just want to be loved.

Some women are turned towards lesbian sex by the men they have known.

You are obviously heterosexual. Don't give that away. There are some great men out there. Some church environments, by their legalisms and unhealthy attitudes towards human sexuality can created environments where man do not develop into really caring, mature people, but remain self centred and sexually unreliable.

Not all of us are jerks :)

Hold out! God is sovereign, and He has a perfect plan for your life. Though it may not be exactly according to your plan, I can promise that His is so much better. Homosexuality is condemned throughout scripture; don't even consider that as an option. Resist that line of thinking because it can quickly take over your mind.

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to this thread. Been having a lot going on in life. I checked for a few days to see if anyone was going to reply but when no one replied I thought maybe I really shouldn't talk about things like that here. Thanks for all your replies and I am working through my feelings and know in the spring when my daughter and I move a new life awaits us so I will see what God has in store for me.

I agree. I'm 46 and single.

I was saved at 17. I asked Jesus if I will get married. He told me "That is for me to know, and for you to find out. Once the right woman comes along, you'll know."

So far, she has not arrived, but I'm not complaining.

I think you are hitting the nail on the head with older women. They might just sort of... give up. Men do not want to be men anymore.

But women also do not want to be women, either. Nowadays women are manipulative, angry, proud, self- willed creatures that drive men away in droves. I am not saying you are this way. But there is nothing more beautiful to a man than a woman who loves him, and is submitted to him, especially where her body is concerned. Only God can help you do this.

I have met one or two women who were like this naturally, loving, affectionate, kind no matter what, and they are the definition of the word beauty.

Any man who would leave a woman like that has deep rooted issues with homosexuality, or he used to be a woman himself.

As a man who struggles with homosexuality, I can tell you, if you deviate from Gods plan for you (As a woman, created for a man) you will find nothing but emptiness. Sure, you can suckle the teat of emotion, but your spirit will be dying inside of you.

There's a reason God says things are to be a certain way. The way things "are".

What you are proposing will only add to your misery.

I have been alone for two decades now, and previous, I never got past a kiss with a woman. Every day I ache in loneliness. How many more dry years will there be for me? Only God knows. You need to seek God and ask Him to send you a man who will love you. Send you the man that He has for you, even if you passed him up years ago. This can be salvaged. But are you willing to surrender your pride, your selfishness, and your will to God? I have met very few women who are.

There are a lot of guys who wonder why women only seem to go for jerks. I know that's a generalization, but it happens A LOT and leaves a lot of nice guys waiting for someone to give them a chance. You had two marriages and they failed. Maybe you need to consider a different type of guy. I'm a nice guy and I'm very in tune with my emotions and creative minded because God created me this way. But the sad thing is, there aren't a lot of women out there looking for emotional guys. Maybe give someone a chance you never thought you would and you could be presently surprised.

The problem with this concept is you are only getting half the view. You are looking at it as men are the problem because you only date men. If you think women are so much better in relationships you are sorely mistaken. Perhaps your better question should have been to ask MEN about THEIR experiences with women. Because i can assure you that as a 38 year old who has never been married, the women out there have all their own sets of problems.
And the reasons i'm not married have nothing to do with not wanting or trying. I have been dumped by nearly every woman i've ever dated. Granted i'm not perfect, but mostly these women dump me because of Their issues, not mine. So if you think switching over to go against Gods will and plan to become a lesbian because you think things will magically be better, you're going to be in or a big disappointment. The problem isn't gender based at all. The problem is frail, sinful humanity. Regardless of gender.
So i suggest opening your mind to see things from more than just your perspective and find out if there isn't more to learn than just your two experiences to define men. And assume women will be better because they aren't men.
