  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Anyone else practice psionics?

Science can neither prove whether God exists or not, yet most here believe in Him
...... ;)

Well no, science can't prove it, but you can for yourself. Let's talk science. The earth is approx 93 million miles from the sun. Science has figured if the earth was even a few thousand miles further away it would be too cold for life on earth. If it was a few thousand miles closer to the sun it would be too hot for life. The earth is tilted exactly 23 1/2 degrees. Science has figured if it was tilted even 1/2 degree either way we would not have the 4 seasons or any stable weather patterns. The moon is about 220,000 miles from earth, again, any closer or further we would have no tides. No tides in the oceans mean they stagnate and die. Even the air we breath is 80% Nitrogen and 20% Oxygen. Less than 20 we would not be able to breath or light a fire. More than 20 and we would not be able stop any fires. etc., etc., Can all this and more be an accident or coincidence. I think not. Not this kind of perfection. It's all part of His plan.

That's still an opinion or "theory", and is still not "proving" anything. "Perfection"? There's many theories dealing in chaos to show things aren't "perfect" as you put it.....

Just because you "feel" (or think) something is true, doesn't make it any more true than the Flying Spaghetti Monster theory....it's all still speculation. If "nature" and this "world" were CLEARLY the work of a God, being without a shadow of a doubt EVIDENCE of Him, then the native american's wouldn't believe in what they did and do.....and that's just one group of people who were living without the "christian" bible being preached to them (which wasn't even written until after Jesus' death).....and the world was much bigger than the middle east, that's for sure!

Let's not confuse facts with what is still speculation and guessing.

psionics along with nearly all magic isn't real at all.
Its a load of fecal matter.

(BTW, I "dwelled" in the occult with ceremonial magic and talking to people who were into it deep. I now know what evangelists to not listen to while they are busy spouting garbage about "brides of satan" and supernatural powers, i know its psychosomatics...EVERY BIT OF WHAT I DID WAS THAT. I also tried my hand at psionics. Its stupid)

So while some many of ya are spouting on about the demonic activity in it, without any real knowlege of it, keep your trap shut, you guys only make yourselves look stupid.

I had crit. fail when I rolled for psionics.
But I look on the bright side, I walk right by the mind flayers without fear.

I don't rule out magic, psionics, or the power of God, just because I haven't seen anything to prove definately it does or doesn't exist.
I have seen the power of God, but nothing that can "Prove" it's existence.

Just keep things in perspective. If someone could do these things why aren't they rich, or conquering the world? If they push you to do things against god or humanity, then you know they are cultists. And aren't doing anything to better your life.

Hey all.

Anyway, my definition of psionics is, basically, a skill, just like any other. Unlike most others, though, it is not widely known of, much less appreciated (or respected by some).

Basically, it is based on the principle that one form of energy can turn into another, i.e. mechanical into heat, etc. Only, psionics is the skill of turning thoughts into energy.

I have been practicing psionics for a bit now, first concentrating on gathering energy in my abdomen, then sending it through my hands, forming a ball between them. So far I have had minimal progress, though I have, on a few occasions, felt a tingling sensation in my abdomen, and sometimes in my hands.

Also, I disagree with the idea of psionics being a demonic ability that causes problems; psionics is a skill, just like playing a sport, or lifting weights; I do not see how it can be associated with demons and the like, but I am too inexperienced with the Christian faith to argue that further :)

or anything that is used in paganism or wicca (which i do beleive is evil)

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* ...

Please don't speak out of ignorance, deeming it evil without fully learning about the subject at hand. I am a Christian by the way.

Paganism/Wicca are, basically, their own religions. They have their own customs, their own "prayers", etc, and are totally different from Christianity; you calling them evil and then talking about knowing the subject before making a statement about it (i.e. "evil") isn't really.. wise :)

Oh, and I know you didn't say this, but I just want to point it out: again, Paganism is its own seperate religion; thus, being a Christian and saying that Pagans are "Devil Worshippers" is, simply speaking, stupid on your part.

Anyway, sorry about the temporary OT, back on track now :)

Question: Have any of you asked God whether or not it is something he approves of? :prayer: I think that the only ways to find the answer to whether psionics is evil or not is 1)the Bible, 2)prayer and 3)the Holy Spirit acting as your conscience, a thought (no matter how brief) telling you this is wrong! That's what I think, so I'm going to go and find out.

Yes, let's not over look what the bible says. The spritual life that Christ wants for us is different than the other type of "spirituality" offered in society and various other practices.

There is living by the Spirit, and there is the desire to encounter spitiuality and spirits "sensuously". The latter is condemned for our own wellbeing. You can lable it as you wish, just as secular humanism seems benign. But this desire and experience opens one up to a spirit of prelest, or worse. Not all who seek it will suffer the worst, but some do.

There was an account of a man who had studied eastern theology and had aquired the ability to project "energy" to the point of smashing rocks. He went to Mt Athos (where monks live) to see an elder of some noteriety to demonstrate his power. The elder then took a clay ball, made the sign of the cross over it, and asked the man to smash it. He could not.

Wow, it's so fabulous that I could make such a ruckus after a simple question, ain't it? No, I kid; I didn't want to stir anything up, I just wanted to ask if anyone else practiced. I still haven't changed my stance on it... nor do I think I ever will. Each and every time I think about it, I just become reaffirmed that it isn't wrong. Oh boy, now I get the flame laid on me. ^_^

Well... time for bed.

Hate you?
Whatever dude... :p

A lot of people say that about a lot of things. Getting drunk, having sex outside of marriage, etc.

When I was about 18 I had a serious conviction that magick may not be entirely evil. I started looking up on demonology and a lot of really dark - and evil stuff. I was convinced I wasn't sinning because I didn't cast any spells. Stupid, huh? Eventually I came upon some knowledge which was not... Good. I still believed I was not sinning, even though I knew the names and size of the armies of the princes of hell. I didn't think I was sinning even though I "tapped into" knowledge which was neither from this world nor from God.

What I am trying to say is; Careful. We can be awfully easy to deceive, and it is a lot better to err on the side of caution. Be wise. Talk to experienced pastors about this. I do not think it is good at all. And would abstain from it for sure. Even though such abilities are very tempting to know and be able to control. I don't say "Accept my warning as absolute truth or I will send the spanish inquisition on you" but rather hear what I say, why I say it - and hear other people out as well. Figure stuff out on your own. Just listen to others as you make your decision.

Peace out.

I'm atheist, and as such I don't belong to any church... but now, I am getting this great urge to walk into a church and tell a priest that I am practicing psionics, and I am starting to be able to manipulate energy and stuff... I just wanna see the horrified look on his face >:)

Too bad there isn't a davil smiley... :)
