Anyone converted to Christianity due to Christian Apologetics arguments?

I don't know about how unlimited any other Christian's philanthropy ought to be, but mine will be limited essentially because my spouse, not unlike many atheists, is put out with "the American Church" and has told me in no uncertain terms that "That's how it's going to be!"

So, if you're a marriage expert, please tell me how I might 'get around' this little predicament so that I might live more toward what you've interpreted is a fuller (richer?) Christian life, one lived for the benefit of other people and one in which I may magnify the Lord Jesus to my fullest ability.

"If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple. And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple."

I'm not; besides, you're the mathematician, so if you're not counting I know that I'm not.

Yeah, ever since I became a Christian back in '86, even as naive and minimally educated as I was, I've never seen the wisdom in reading the Bible with a "plain reading."

"Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me."

...oh, I don't know about that! It's at least an 'aspect' of context ...

How to Grasp the Flow of Thought in a Passage - LogosTalk

Ok.

Ok.

Kudos for finding a source that explicitly backs your position. It's still wrong.

Context is objective. Flow is subjective. So they cannot be the same thing.

Context is merely the surrounding text, while flow, as your source defines it, is your interpretation of the author's intent.

Sure, context can be a component of flow. But now you're moving the goalposts, aren't you?

Oh, and by the way I didn't take those quotes out of context.

What? I can't believe it! Jesus said I should hate all the people I love most? You're kidding me!

I know I'm getting older and further away from being a child, but I thought that the movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was to be assumed to be an impossible phenomenon. I guess Jesus knew better than I do on this, then?

I'm moving goalposts? And what are your counter-sources for your assertions here? You may be correct (maybe), but it could also be that you're incorrect OR that you're partially correct and partially wrong, OR it might also be that this is an issue that is mediated by the kinds of hermeneutical theorists we choose to listen to.

An addtional dimension in this is that we also need to ask whether Interpretation is an Art or a Science, OR is it both at the same time?

Some of you might remember my period of question in recent years. But reading CS Lewis really helped put me back in the right direction.

By the way I've set my belief as Seeker (but have put "Born Again Christian" in my signature area), because I'm not yet ready to get into Christian debates and things. It limits where I can post.

That doesn't matter.

It is forbidden. (by God)

Not "translation" - no, that is not forbidden (as long as done rightly, accurately, properly).

There's no need to "interpret" and it is forbidden because God forbids it.

No, it does not mean to explain a text. That is GOOD and RIGHT when the MEANING is from GOD.

Key: The Meaning Is From God.

See? Thus, NO interpretation by men/ mankind/ man's ways. None. Zero. Zip.

Simply speak the Father's Word as He Gives it (EVEN BEFORE JUDGES, as written) .....
