• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Anybody else really dislike this new format?

Oh okay. I had to turn my phone sideways to see it.
I'm glad you can post with your phone, Michie. I simply cannot use my phone to post on this new format----I have to use my desktop. If I so much as hit a wrong key and try to back up and correct a letter, the whole thing goes haywire. Plus, it's nearly impossible for me to do anything like post links, add pictures or emojis, etc.

It’s not easy. The previous format was a lot more user friendly.

I won't even try my phone. Those 'be a mod bars' [been there did that] et al, would drive me to distraction on the phone.

I really don't like it. I especially don't like all the user information cluttered on top of every post, so you have to scroll past all this stuff to read through the thread. It's confusing and very hard on the eyes.

Anyone else?
I haven't decided yet, knowing that I do tend to be resistant to change.

What I am concerned abit about is a current discussion in the Feedback Forum on the subject of 'limiting' how many 'new threads' a person can post daily. While I understand that some members do not want to see new threads that they are not interested in, I don't agree with limiting the number of new threads a person can post.

Here in this subforum, I personally think it works very well to see many different threads on different topics.
Makes things interesting here; a pleasant place to come and fellowship and discuss things, in the threads that are of specific interest to the reader.

:)

I've been a member of CF for a long time; seen subforums work, and subforums fail. Imo, this one works.
So personally, I hope there is no change to the 'new thread' rule.

This new format is very hard for me to view/use on my phone ...
which is unfortunate for me, as it is on my phone where I previously did most of my CF reading.

For now, I'll only feel comfortable visiting this site from my desktop ...

I just figured out there is such a thing as 'upvoting'. Different than liking or agreeing and all that. Huh?

Oh wow. I had no idea that this feature existed either until you pointed it out!

Arrow (or carat) is only visible on phone in landscape mode
Does everyone see the hats??

Or have I lost that last darn marble I was clinging to? ^_^

You can turn them off.

Although he incorrectly states to remove the tick mark. You actually want the tick mark to disable the "holiday mode"

yeah that part is irritating, those notifications don't go away, and I don't see where there's like, a "trending topics" or something so it's harder to navigate.

I also don't get this "cascading leaves" and Pilgrim hats deal. The leaves are irritating, and if I want silly hats on my avatar, I'll put them there myself, thank you very much.

I come here less frequently, read less frequently,
and Post less frequently now than I used to, if that makes any difference.

The place has a totally different feel than it used to.

For me, the old format was friendly, the "new posts" board drew me in, and I was more likely to read and respond, and recommend to others.

This format reminds me of a freeway that I cruise, and watch the exits as they pass by.
It is what it is.

I'm getting used to the basics of it but I think I'll never understand all the nooks and crannies.
Same here, but I'm glad the site is still here and not being closed down.
