Any one else sick of hearing about nirvana?

SawZaw - I totally agree. People talk about Nirvana like they do the Beatles, and it is completely unwarranted.
When I'm 45 and have kids, we're not going to be spending Saturday afternoons listening to "Nirvana's Greatest Hits" in the living room.
By then I think a lot of people will have forgotten about Nirvana.

I'll probably still be listening to Nirvana and not the Beatles.

I liked Nirvana, still listen to some of their stuff, but I don't think they were equivilant to the Beatles (as much as I don't like the Beatles, either). They were good, but their time has come and gone.

I think that Nirvana is still mentioned because they were most effective in bringing Grunge to the airwaves. People still talk about Nirvana because they were the last band (IMO) to change popular music. Hair metal was fake, grunge was real. I think it's a shame that Cobain died because of the media hype that still surrounds it. Nirvana never wanted to dominate the music market (read the lyrics to "In Bloom")...it just happened.

Yeah, I think that that is one of their best tunes. In all honesty, I would take In Utero over Nevermind any day. I just wanted to point out a great song that wasn't all over the radio.
