Well, my mother's cousin was dropped as a baby (by a babysitter I think). Mom says he was normal before the incident, but now he is mentally retarded.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

When my daughter was about 1 month old, I *stupidly* fell asleep on the couch, with her on my chest. I woke up as she was rolling off my chest and onto the floor. I grabbed her up real quick, I was sooo scared! She cried for all of about 30 seconds and I cried for the whole rest of the day!! I called my mom, I called my cousin who is a nurse, I called my best friend. I agonized for the first couple of years of her life that I had cause some sort of horrible brain damage that wouldn't show up right at first. She's 9 now and *very* smart, she has an awesome singing voice, and so far seems to be fine. <grin>
