i just got done reading the classifications. sadly enough, i have to watch myself into these categorizing of metal. but what is odd to me is, like let's say someone that is really into black metal for example. their definition of metal is going to be that and nothing else. the rest gets classified as hardcore or metalcore. but let's someone not of the black metal scene, their classification of metal is going to be different. people say Black Sabbath is classic rock, but Sabbath was the first metal band, while maybe with Led Zepplin right along with them. sure, modern metal does some have influence of hardcore. i like the mix but it doesn't make it less metal, it's just metal is going to change as time goes on. i like what Jim Root, #7 of Slipknot said in the newest Guitar One Magazine.

"Right now I'm seeing a neoclassical Nordic vibe mixed with a hardcore sort of thing. To me, it's another incarnation of what metal should be."

Is there any punk metal?
I mostly listen to christian death metal.
What are some good symphonic-black bands except cradle and dimmu?
are there any black guys in metal?
There was a metal band here in South Africa that was all black. I can't remember thier name, but they did get some radio-play.

On the subject of symphonic-black bands I can't really comment.

Ha, ha! Another power metal fan. Awesome.

Some other groups you might like: Angra, Helloween, Brainstorm, Within Temptation, Freedom Call, Metalium.

Dragonforce is one of my favorite groups. I'm a member on their forums.

Why on earth WOULDN'T black people be in metal?!?!
I'm not saying that because metal is far superior to other genres, or anything like that.
Do some white people like rap? Hip hop? yes.
Do I like sitar music from India? yes.
I think generalizing whether a certain race or ethnic group likes a certain anything is ignorant junk.

The most metal person I know is black.
