I would argue that an exceedingly better way to deal with the problems you are trying to solve is for businesses to be owned 100% by their employees. In this scenario, the employees are the lone stock holders and, since they live within the communites themselves, they have the most incentive to serve the same.

There are naturaly going to be some areas of greater wealth than others. Sometimes some of those resources need to be directed into other communities.

Due to the fact the forum is dominated by fundies and moderate democrats, i wanted to know how many of us there are :)

On second thought however, keep reading

We need a general discussion thread, after all the 'other political parties' forum is only for reactionaries really, so i guess maybe we could use a thread as a safe house for general discussion of revolutionary thought perhaps? Or just general 'left wing pinko commie' discussions:p
The forum is dominated by reactionaries both right-wing and left...

There are very, very few "leftist radials" on this forum, people from the USA seem to believe that the Democrates are left leaning!!

Karl Marx, Engels, Che Guevara, Ho Chi Minh, Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Evo Morales......heroes of the people!

If the poor and working class are the minority and the middle class is the majority are they still heroes of the people, or are they only heroes of those with less than average fortune?

The goal ahould be to enable everyone to move into the middle class that is willing to work and struggle for the betterment of themselves and thier families. This can not happen if we ditch Capitalism altogether.

Your welcome to shred my Leftist Radical Club card if you wish. ;)

What's with the insurance hatred? Insurance provides security that you will not be overly damaged by bad fortune at a slight premium. The security that your home and belongings won't be destroyed by a random fire is worth a percentage on the value of said belongings times the probability that the belongings will be destroyed in a fire.

I suspect that it's profiting from the threat of loss that some hate. Imagine communites which provided that support to members of thier community without making a profit from the whole thing.

The support would inevitably be based on the wealth of the community as a whole, the status of the family in the community, and the generosity of the community. Not to mention the general intelligence of the community - remember the episode of the Simpsons where everyone rebuilds Ned's home?

Strange...most people wouldn't consider mass murderers or their inspirational fathers to be heroes.

If that's what it takes to be a leftist radical, then I thank God there aren't very many of them in Canada.

You're the one with the hero-worship; you're telling me you've never read a single thing about the crimes these examples of human scum committed?

Karl Marx and Frederich Engels penned works that inspired men like Stalin and Mao to slaughter millions of people, numbers worse than the Nazis ever did. Communism has proven to be the scourge of humanity, treating EVERYONE as expendable tools to be used in the service of the state. ANYONE supporting such a vile system sickens me.

I, along with everyone else here, am a human being with individual rights that are not subsumed to the needs or whims of the elite cadre that runs the state.

And if you seriously want to claim that Castro hasn't ordered the deaths of a lot of people, the imprisonment of those who try to escape his concentration camp of an island, then there's really no point in talking to you about it.

As far as the mass murder is concerned, are we talking Ho Chi Minh, Guevara?

Obviously, I'm left-leaning, but since I'm theologically conservative, I don't feel like I'm completely in the spirit of the Left (capital L) I'm just a leftist because I have common sense and its more practical than being on the right.

Ummmm.....YOU are the one citing Stalin and Mao, brutal totalitarians! Obviously, the ones I listed are heroes of the people!

Please provide concrete examples of "mass murder" committed in their names!

I am one of the most leftest radicals here.

I dare you to find anyone more leftest or radical than myself.

I strongly believe and support most of what Thomas Jefferson(the most famous leftest radical in history) believed in and stood for.

"Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have ... The course of history shows that as a government grows, liberty decreases."
-Thomas Jefferson-

A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor and bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government.
Thomas Jefferson

That government is best which governs the least, because its people discipline themselves.
Thomas Jefferson

To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.Thomas Jefferson

The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.
Thomas Jefferson

No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.
Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson could in no way be considered a leftist radical or even a liberal, in its modern context.

No, I was wondering which of the names you named would be the mass murderers? I thought those were the two most likely to have that charged levelled against them, I don't know a lot about either.
That's the point!:)

NONE of these people are considered "mass murderers"! They fought for the freedom of the people!

Ummm....the majority of human beings ARE the poor! As an internationalist and someone who cares about the plight of ALL, we must include all peoples of the world. We live in an amazingly prosperous society at the expense of the massive majority of poor on this planet. The massive transfer of wealth, to a small minority, that has/is happening is nauseating. Yes, it would be wonderful if the world could all have running water, education, health care. This is not possible under capitalism such is practiced today. It is very sad that the USA has descended into class warfare between the working class people. This is what we focus on, uniting all workers for the betterment of the workers and society!:)

Surely the objective is to empower all people, to give everyone a voice in their govenment and a middle class life style. Why can't everyone have running water and indoor plumbing, and all the things we in the west consider basic?

Sure, it way require some engineering... however shouldn't the objective be to create a world wide middle class majority?
