Need someone to bounce ideas off of. Christmas is coming, and it's getting harder and harder to find unique Christmas presents for my technophyle husband. I know he's interested in replacing what we have (have had for the past 8 years or so) with investment quality pieces that we won't want to replace again.
I am familiar with most of the review sites, and I'm learning more and more about it so I can understand what's said. If he wants this stuff so bad, I want to understand what it is so the cost is better justified. Still, I like to bounce things off of actual people.
Currently, we have a JVS sub, JVS center, Orion fronts, and Radio Shack something for the rears. Lower end Yamaha receiver.
Looking at getting: Dynaudio fronts and center (Audience 82 for the front and 120c ? for the center), Rell sub, and Linn ceiling speakers for the rear (sorry, don't know the models yet). Higher end Yamaha receiver.
I think my Christmas bonus will cover the sub and rear speakers.
Thoughts and info to share would be greatly appreciated. If you want to talk about what you have, you can too. I find it all fascinating.
