Seems to me you need a piece of humble pie!
Now, that's the second cheap shot...
You may be right, you may be wrong and others maybe right or maybe wrong but just becuase they have a different interpertation does not mean that are teaching heresy.
By that reasoning, everybody is right, Paul wasted his time and anything in OK in the name of Christ.
Example:
Ya know , this tread was posted to see if anyone was a carman fan & what thier favorite song was, not a bash carman thread , think what you will about him , what he does & teaches is between him and God, if you disagree with his teachings dont listen to him and pray for him let God deal, ok,
OK, I'm gonna start a thread on the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and what great Christians they are. Along the way I'll post some of Joseph Smith's and Brigham Young's writings... by the above reasonings, NOBODY can question their interpretation of the gospel.
"Earnestly contend for the faith, once for all delivered unto the faith." Jude 3
"I we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel than that which you have received, let them be anathema [accursed of God]." Galatians 1
And Satan struck in vengeance! The blow of death felled Jesus to the ground. The devils roared in victory! The saints shocked and perplexed as wounds appeared upon His hands and feet. Then Satan kicked Him in His side, and blood and water flowed. And they waited for the 10 count of defeat. God the Father turned His head, His tears announcing Christ was dead...
Besides being hard to read because of the calous and blasphemous way Carman treats the Person of Jesus... this is simply very bad doctrine.
Yes, men in their final act of depravity "crucified the Lord of Glory" but neither they nor Satan killed Jesus. That is flat-out anti-gospel. And the Father did not turn His head and cry! The scripture clearly states that it PLEASED the Father to BRUISE Him!
Outwardly they appeared to "kill" Him:
Acts 529Peter and the other apostles replied: "We must obey God rather than men! 30The God of our fathers raised Jesus from the dead--whom you had killed by hanging him on a tree. 31God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might give repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.
But this is rebuke of their intention (and satan is not mentioned anyway). The truth was stated by Jesus:
John 10
17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
Jesus was "rejected of men" but He was "smitten of God".
"Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin... "
"His soul" was made an offering for sin. We can't enter in to that. Neither Satan nor demons had anything to do with the sin transaction. It was wholly between the Father and the Son. Victory was on the cross ("It is finished!... into they hands I commend my spririt").
Satan ascended from Hell
No he did not. He's never even been there, nor is he looking forward to going there.
Why don't you write to your hero and correct his errors. And I haven't touched on the fact that his songs (clearly demonstrated in the examples given) take great liberties with God the Father, Jesus, and Satan. Carman puts words in their mouths that have no basis in scripture.
If there are errors in my music, I'd appreaciate correction. What I don't encourage are the continue ad hominem (personal) attacks against me.
