  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

A couple things... the dollar tree tests are 1/4 as sensitive as the walmart tests, so you might want to spend the extra and get the $3 test from walmart instead, if it's this soon. As for whether it's possible, I wonder how long your monthly cycle is. If you have a four week cycle, it's unlikely. If you have a three week cycle, it's quite possible. I know that for the past few years I've frequently ovulated the day after my period ended.

Actually, I was surprised to learn that the Dollar Store tests are actually in many cases just as sensitive or more sensitive as the more expensive brands. So many women on the site I run have switched to these tests. Our Dollar Store's test are a 20 or 25 mIU

If you haven't checked out peeonastick.com , you have to check it out. The gal running it is just a tad bit obsessive but the site cracks me up and it has great info.

Here's one of her pages on hpt sensitivity

I concieved Christian right after I MC'ed Corey. I MC'ed on April 22, 2004 and concieved the week of May 30, 2004. I had my period on June 2, then through out July I didn't feel right so I tested negative 4 times, then the 5th time, three weeks after my missed AF I tested positive.

Congratulations to you.

One thing I am a strong believer in especially if you've had a previous miscarriage is having your levels checked for progesterone. I have a ton of research I can show you on the importance of progesterone and how natural (not synthetic) prescription progesterone can prevent more than 80% of miscarriages in women with low progesterone. If you're interested in that information, I'll be happy to send you links to the studies. They are in actual medical journals and not the hocus-pocus kind of journals. Unfortunately, many doctors in the U.S. don't check progesterone levels until you've had three miscarriages unless asked.

Congrats to you.

Not always. Long story short but you can read my story on the www.misdiagnosedmiscarriage.com site but at 5 1/2, 6, 7 and 8 weeks every u/s showed only an empty gestational sac. Because we knew the exact day I conceived and the hcg levels and sac were much higher/bigger than the point where a baby is always seen, they wanted me to have a D&C. I refused because I really wanted a natural miscarriage and had to turn it down at two seperate appointments against the better judgement of my doctor. At 9 weeks we found my baby, everybody was in shock...and that baby is now two years old. Turns out, many women see their babies later. If, by some odd chance you don't see the heartbeat, ask if you have a tilted uterus. Turns out many of us with any uterine abnormalities see our babies later. Some of the gals on the misdiagnosed site were 10 to 12 weeks and had turned down the D&Cs. Some stories are miraculous. We've got stories of women who went through an actual miscarriage with bleeding, passing sac etc... and told their docs they didn't want the D&C. Weeks later they went in and found there was a twin they couldn't see before on the u/s and the twin was just fine (those twins actually have an incredible survival rate). There are also women who had D&C's for blighted ova or babies that "didn't" survive and the D&C missed the baby and they later found they were still pregnant, that the D&C missed the baby and the baby is fine. There are also women who have gone in, found the baby but were told the baby was dead because the heart stopped and then a week or two later found out that the baby was just fine. Mistakes happen but fortunately, research now shows that women can safely wait out a diagnosis and know without a doubt they are indeed going to miscarry before having a D&C.

Amazing things happen. Anyhow, just wanted you not to give up hope on the off chance you don't see that heartbeat. When you see the heartbeat can vary from pregnancy to pregnancy and many women can easily be 8 or 9 or more before seeing those babies.

I hope you do get a beautiful view of that beating heart. (((hugs))) and looking forward to your update.

But thank you for sharing your story. I wonder how many women might be saved heartache and a huge mistake because of people like you sharing this experience!

Thank you. God is truly using that site and babies are being saved. Women are also learning that they do not need to be pressured into a D&C too early (happens frequently). My story is nothing compared to some of the miracles we have seen there. If you get a chance read the 'our stories' section...amazing, really. The awesome part is the way the women come together to help each other. Whether they are indeed miscarried or misdiagnosed, they all help each other out and I feel so blessed to be a part of it. Doctors are even taking an interest now and we're trying to get one of the major medical research journals to initiate a study. When that happens, the rate of misdiagnosed miscarriages will certainly drop.
