My wife and I have been married for over 6 years now and we are very happy. Longer than you have ever been(oh wait your not married I forgot). Secondly I wouldn't marry someone who didn't value God's authority or the bible. Again you show more of your bible ignorance. God says the wife is to be submissive to her husband. Again it just shows how much you have a problem with God. And sorry my wife is a christian who values God and the bible not liberal rhetoric. Unlike you I value family, children and marriage.




Well, you'll find it out in the bible. Women are to dress modest, without tons of Jewelry, fancy hair styles, revealing clothing. There are women out there who actually follow this you know.

What I can't figure out is if the marriage is as holy as being claimed then where is the wife's witness? (Btw, I know how to run a syntax exam so I strongly recommend against a sock for the supposed Mrs. CIC.)

To be fair, logging on to an internet forum and speaking to strangers while trying to 'win' arguments isn't everyone's cup of tea.

What is a syntax exam anyway? If it is used to track IP addresses then it sounds more than reasonable that CIC and Mrs CIC would have the same IP address.

lol At work today we had one of our usual guys in that attempt to optimize a couple of assays we have on our automated instruments. He's a pretty straight-laced guy and we're often chatty. I thought "doh! could he be a CF member?" who knows. I would never admit to this vice though my husband considers it one of my bad habits.

Usually I log on from work in down time, because I'm in charge and no one questions my computer use :)

But I live in constant bemusement as to whether I will ever encounter anyone in the real world who I've met online, without organising it. What are the odds though? Couple billion to one against?

A couple of people in real life know I visit here, but only because they have witnessed me posting, but I certainly wouldn't make a habit of broadcasting it. I often wonder if anyone else recognises me from my posts along with my first name and year of birth, but just haven't said anything because they don't want people to know they visit here either ^_^ Probably unlikely, you never know though.

I moved from Portland Oregon to this litlle podunk town of less than 10,000. When I was in Portland I was a lurker, and even after I moved here I was as well. Then I met this guy (and no, for the fundamentalists out there, nothing sexual has happened, and never will), who, I found out through days of discussion, was also a member of CF
Once I realized who he was (and how confrontational he was) I figured I had a shot at posting in CF
Im confrontational as well.....~duh~, so I thought I might have a chance here

Yeah I not only have met someone from CF IRL (because I moved to this tiny town) but he's also my best friend.

Statistics aside, it can happen.

Now for my part, I'd LOVE a CF congregation (all faiths, even those I oppose like AV1611VET, LittleNipper, CreedIsChrist, RobertByers, etc) meeting! Its easy for us to loose sight of each other as "mutual humans", so I'd love to see a meeting, as long as it took place in NorthEast Oregon, as I cant afford to travel futher than that :(




EDITED TO ADD- sorry, that last part was threatening a derailment to the OP. I wont retract it, because I'd love to see such a thing happening, but Im not trying to distract the point of the thread. A seperate OP perhaps for that last statement of mine?

I thought RoberByers was reformed but maybe I'm confusing him with another poster. Either way, I would surely initiate a water balloon fight.

I don't see debating as winning or losing...people either learn or they don't. The only real loss in debating is an affliction of cognitive dissonance.

As for the syntax exam, another term is forensic linguistics. Like snowflakes, no two people are identical so we all have unique syntax. This is how the Unabomber was caught and it was used to prosecute him. In no way am I claiming to be an expert and in fact iam really rough with it but it's not impossible. Back when report threads were visible to all, minus usernames, some of us could see who posted what by examinating the syntax.

You inadvertantly revealed the purpose behind the question. He has held two consistent claims: (a) People need to be taught his version of God's instruction for our lives. (b) Wives are supposed to be submissive. Since his wife is supposed to be submissive he should have had her join CF to share his instructions. She doesn't have a choice, being submissive by God's order and all, so it doesn't matter if she would like it or even want to. The other point the question was designed to show is that even if she was a poster there is no way we could verify credibility because she doesn't have autonomy. Therefore, anything she would say would be suspect because how would we know if she is saying what she believes or simply following the instructions on what to say?
