The book of Job contemplates that question at great length, but comes to no conclusion, beyond Job being told that he can't possibly understand God's ways.

I don't buy the answer that volcanic eruptions or tsunamis are caused by sin, and I don't expect atheists to buy it either.

In that clip he says that our suffering is caused by our rebellion to god and I was thinking, even if we all stopped rebelling today we still would have suffering. So I kept watching, but after a while I just started feeling sad so I turned it off.

You have a good heart jehoiakim, wanting all the pain and suffering of the human race to end is a noble thing. But lets all start on working towards that today so when jesus comes back tomorrow we wont all stand ashamed.

If you study the Bible you will understand. The answer is there, as are the answers to most other questions you may have about anything. You just have to open your mind and your heart to the word of God.

Yes, the Word of God has the answers. The world and natural man is under judgment and condemnation from the Fall in the beginning of creation, and the rebellious spirit of mankind brings down further trouble and suffering; however, there is mercy to them who at least honor God (1 Sam. 2:30).

The true saints of God (those who receive God's "great salvation" in the Lord Jesus Christ) sometimes suffer to help them learn to deal with their fleshly ways, and learn to trust God more, and also sometimes as martyrs to show their devotion to God as they steadfastly honor God in the face of suffering. Thankfully, there is great reward in Heaven for all faithful saints who must suffer now for the Name of Christ.

Jesus answered that question in John 9:1-7.

Jesus specifically says: “It was not sin” and Jesus does not mention Adam & Eve, satan, bad luck, or an evil world.

The reason the man was born blind is the same reason for any and all tragedies, they Are not the result of the bad that has happened, but are there for the good that can and should happen.

Have you seen great good come as a result of a tragedy?

This does not mean we should create more tragedies, the same as we should not go on sinning that grace may abound. Every tragedies is there for us to cease (an opportunity) and allow the indwelling holy Spirit to bring about great good.

God is love that is sure. Firstly, we need to understand that 'hell' was not created nor intended for humans, it was made for Satan. Secondly, we need to understand that in the beginning God gave us as humans dominion over everything on earth. God gave us a choice and he expects us as humans to make good decisions for earth. Suffering comes about because of man's sin. Because God already gave us the dominion over earth and gave us choice, he cannot choose for us nor tell us what to do. Instead, it is up to us humans to make the decision to control suffering rather than add to it. We as humans tend to think that God must come in and intervene and stop this and stop that. But then that would mean we have no decision. It is like having a child. You can tell him not to do the wrong thing, but the choice is ultimately still his. We cannot tie his hands and feet and lock him up so that he cannot do the wrong thing. We must trust that he knows the right thing. In the event that he does not obey the parent, consequences are there. Does this mean that that parent does not love his or her child? The Book of Job is not about Job, it is about the supremacy of God. We need to recognize that God is bigger than his created work therefore he does not think like us neither does he operate in our time span. We cannot put him in a box and decide how he should operate. I wrote a post this week on my blog about the supremacy of God and how he delivered me when I learned to submit to his authority. There is no hell, there is only God. Hell is what comes when you attempt to obtain anything where God is not. Hell is merely the absence of God however hell itself is not real because it is not only God, hell is the sins you wish to have instead of simply accepting the love of God solely.

When you go into a room with no windows and turn off the light, the room is all around you though you cannot see it, it has not vanished because you've chosen to turn the light off.
