Answered prayers/Intercession of Saints

This thread is for testimonies by those of us who have asked a saint for his/her intercession and had our prayers resolved to a good account.

I'll start: several years ago, I had a relative who was seeking an annulment so she and her new spouse could return to the Sacraments. I prayed to St. Monica (patron of married women) and to Our Lady on their behalf every day for several months as their case went through the Tribunal.

They received a favorable judgement and the annulment was granted, and today they are both in good standing in their parish and are active litugical ministers.

Thank you, Lord Jesus. Thank you, Mother Mary, and thank you, St. Monica.

I am in college and recently my scholarships and grants were denied because of excessive units. I wrote an appeal but it was also rejected. So I visited the associate dean in charge of those matters. She basically said that my case appeared hopeless.

I prayed a quick prayer to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker (aka Santa Claus) who is the patron of those in financial need.

Within two hours, my grants and scholarships were totally reinstated.

Thank you St. Nicholas! Thank you Jesus!

My parents couldn't sell their house for two years. They moved and bought another house and were strapped with two mortgages for at least a year. One day, we asked St. Joseph for his intercession and, out of an act of faith and not superstition, buried his statue in the yard. Within a coupla of days, the house sold. Thank you St. Joseph and most of all, thank you Jesus.

I very rarely pray to Saint Anthony when I lose something, I have only done it six times, and it has been when something important was lost (my wife's sweet 16 ring, my wedding ring twice, car keys, friends necklace, and a friends wallet).

We had no idea where anyone them were, but four of those seemed REALLY hopeless. After asking Saint Anthony for help, they were ALL found within an hour or so!!!

My "miracle" was rather recent!

Back around Christmas, I was invited to my friend Jean-Emmanuel's ordination in France two Sundays ago (June 29) but since the prices for airfare have been ridiculous it looked hopeless to be able to go even though I’d been looking and waiting for months to find a good price to fly over. But because of my duties to pay all my debts before I enter the Capuchin order in September, spending money for a flight to Europe is “hors de question” at present.

I had been praying earnestly nevertheless and last Monday (June 23) I felt a strong tug to keep insisting. I told the Lord, "If you want me to get there, even though I cannot afford this, you will make it possible. For if you so will it, you will send your angels to carry me there directly, for with you, nothing is impossible" and I was praying a Rosary. I asked the Blessed Mother, Joseph, all the angels and saints to pray with me as well.

I was at peace that it was in the Lord's hands.

I arrived at work on Tuesday (June 24) to find an e-mail from my friend Jean-Emmanuel (the one being ordained) about the Litany of Saints and readings and such... and saw I'd be participating as a reader and I thought, this must be a confirmation that God is going to make it happen. My mother, who was also praying for me, let me (who was broke) charge it on her credit card (which I'd pay back at payday; and I have!). After previous failed attempts for a decent rate to Paris or London, Paris was still impossible but I did a request on "Priceline" and got a good deal to LONDON, with... VIRGIN Atlantic. LOL!!! Hmmm... curious!

Also, as this occurred on John the Baptist's feast day (the National Holiday of Quebec, and French-Speaking Canada) it carried a lot of significance for me. God was hitting me upside the head with symbolism to let me know that indeed He wanted me to go there even though I was at peace with the fact that I probably would not be able to go.

But while speaking to Jean-Emmanuel and his friend Francis (from church), I learned that not only did I have the prayers of all the angels and saints but the entire diocese of Jean-Emmanuel as well, and his family were praying for my arrival!!!

I have a short story to relate, one that happened just yesterday. I'm not the *ahem* most organized person in the world, my house is filled with clutter, and a multitude of boxes that are stilled filled with stuff from my move of almost a year ago.

Well, yesterday I was going through my prayer books, looking for prayers to the patron saints of this board. I have several, one from a Catholic publishing company that was printed in 1954, and one new one entitled "Essential Catholic Prayer". However, I had been compiling my own prayer book. It was one of those small marble notebooks that would easily fit in your pants pocket. It had my favorite prayers written in it, and I also taped in several prayer cards, writing the prayer on the back on the opposing page. It was almost completely full.

I couldn't find it.

I spent about twenty minutes looking for it, growing steadily more impatient with each passing minute.

I figured that I would pray to St. Anthony for his help.

No sooner had I said "St. Anthony..." than my attention was drawn to a box in my dining room. I opened it up, saw it full of magazines and other clutter. I scrounged around and there, in the corner, towards the bottom was my prayer book.

Thank you St. Anthony!

On July 24, my son and I had to go to the university to clear up some computer problems with the registration. We needed some powerful prayers, as my son was blocked from taking three classes, which he needed for his computer science major.

We were leaving the house when I couldn't locate my glasses. Can't see much without them. Can't leave the house without them! I was getting desperate. Finally I whispered a quick prayer to St. Anthony and to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker (aka Santa Claus). Suddenly realizing that I had overlooked one place, I checked the laundry hamper. Voila! There in the middle of the dirty clothes were my glasses.

Thank you St. Anthony of Padua and St. Nicholas of Myra.

When we got to the college, one phone was dead and the clerk couldn't remove the block even though my son had taken Calculus I. I said a quick prayer to St. John of San Francisco whose incorrupt body and miracles give testimony to his sanctity. Within a few minutes my son had registered and was able to get into all his classes.

Thank you St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco.

I beg this poor saint for intercession at least fortnightly! I don't always find what I'm looking for...Maybe he's trying to teach me to be more organized!

my wife and i started praying every night for st. Gerard Majella's intercession to help us become parents. my wife was pregnant a month later.

we kept praying for his intercession for a problem free pregnancy and an easy delivery, and those were done as well.

praise the Lord.

ive recently lost my cellphone, i was really depressed since it really had some sentimental value. It was the first thing i bought from my own paycheck which i earned from a summer job.

I read from somewhere that if you've lost something pray to St. Anthony of Padua. The day I've lost my phone, I started asking intercession from St. Anthony to enlighten whoever stole my phone that she may have the conscience to give it back to me.

I was about to give up when I read something from a newspaper which says "Not seeing any progress does'nt give you the permission to stop trying.." I think it was a sign for me not to stop praying.

Exactly one week since I lost my phone, i got a call from a friend who told me that the person who stole my phone, returned my phone through my teacher. I was so thankful to St. Anthony, and everytime I look at my cellphone, it reminds me of the endearing power of St. Anthony...

St. Anthony of Padua, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you for granting me my request...

Praise the Lord God Above!!!

I dunno if this is really something, it happened so soon and is so obscure..but anyway..
I started praying for St. Therese's intercession. I read that for people who said the prayer for 5-9 days would see/smell/etc roses...so I thought that would be wonderful if I could ever receive a miracle (the praying statue post got me hooked again on that issue).
Well, today is just the second day I prayed that but it's also her Memorial Day I guess. And I've been asking for Mary's intercessions lately too. And anyway
one of my friends got really mad at me today for things I said. After I went to the chapel to pray about it, I went to eat. I got a fortune cookie, and the fortune said "the only rose without a thorn is friendship" So roses, advice on what I prayed
about....
Again, at this point I don't know..it just seem like a cheesy coincedence, but I pray that I'll be further blessed.

Once when I was little my mom told me a story about how she prayed to a saint (I dont remember the name) and aftrewards she said the room smelled like roses even though there was not a single flower anywhere in sight. I was probably 5 or 6 when she told me this story and I have always remembered it. That was the happiest and calmest I have ever seen my mom.

both my parents have had open heart surgery , dad is 94, mom is 84 ; both have seen God spare them from death

what of the little miracles each day ? those strings of coincidence , good fortune , luck , amazing events .... has to be God

Hebrews 11.1, 6 says our hope from God , demonstrates the love of God , who will respond and reward our prayers , if we but ask and believe . If we had half the expectancy of answered prayer , that a child has this time of year , in Santa , the world would be a far better place ...
