CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My wife was laid off work in November and things have been very rough. Six weeks ago we worked out a budget. We were looking at the income versus expenses we realized that if we took away all meals out, beauty items, clothes purchases and paid off our credit cards, we would be at break even on just my earnings We had six weeks to accomplish getting the cards paid off before what little money we had available was going to run dry. The only conceivable way to pay off the cards in six weeks was for me to sell my business or for my wife to get a job.
Well, I did get an offer for the sale of my business but it was insulting and I didn't take it. My wife kept searching for work and we kept turning to God to do the impossible.
This week the six weeks is up, and as we predicted the money did run dry. There was nothing left for food as of yesterday -
But that was the day she won the lottery too - $5,900+. After tithes and taxes, combined with a tax refund it was just enough to pay off the credit cards!

On the eve of my first anniversary with my husband, I had to give praise to our God. After years of prayer, He gave me the most wonderful, Godly man and my heart overflows with gratitude. Like so many others, we are facing financial crisis, and some others within our family, but our relationship is the earthly foundation that buoys us. We serve a God who hears and gives us the best if we wait, how I thank Him and praise Him for all that He has done for me all my life.

Hey there, I just recently lost my job and it was looking just a little bleak. Some people were telling me I didn't try hard enough to get my job back.
While I got fired for a bad reason, I was the best worker there, never missed work, worked super hard and had a good attitude even though my boss exploited me was crazy-lazy.
Well the people yelling at me at home kind of worked. I had to think and search myself really hard. It seemed very dishonest and not right that I should go and grovel for my job back, I searched my soul and for God's approval and I came up with an idea. First you should know I got fired for failing a drug test. Generally you can not claim unemployment if you are fired for this reason. But you should also know it was only pot and I MAYBE use it 3 or 4 times a year. Though I'll admit I did it way too much that month this all happened. Also I had to take a drug test because I crushed my finger at work due to some unsafe equipment.
Furthermore the person who fired me admitted to doing pot while he fired me. So it seemed way unfare.
So anyhow. It just so happpened that I knew a long list of violations my company had committed in terms of building code violations, missed lunches and breaks, smokeing at work violations which I had complained about, environmental violations, and a couple other odds and ends. I sent them an e-mail saying I would use this knowledge against them if they combated my request for unemployment and that they give me a good referance without mentioning why I was fired.
I recieved a cryptic but optimistic reply from them, but I wasn't entirely sure how to interpret it. However, today I got confirmation that my unemployment applications had been successfuly processed and my old company said they would give me a nuetral referance without any mention as to why I was fired.
So I feel very blessed and I think this may give me the opportunity to find a more charitable and humanitarian career.
For anyone suffering from an unfare work environment in which you feel powerless. I wish this story to bring you hope. With a little ambition, dedication and faith you can combat injustice and unfare situations.

My paryer was answered today. I had a good friend who had gotten mad at me a long time ago because she falsely assumed that the reason of her breakup with her 2yr long relationship with her boyfriend was my fault. I was very saddened that she thought that, it was the last thing i would have every wished for her and i really didn't understand why she thought it was my fault. She held a grudge against me for a long while. At one point i just let it go and prayed that the Lord would bring peace to her heart and fix our relationship. Today, she talked to me and she was smiling and enthousiastic. I'm very happy. Although the conversation wasn't long, the fact that she aknowleged my presence and talked to me is a big step forward from where we were just a few days ago. He answer me! I know it!
