CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Because English is Germanic but has lots of other "influences" like from Romance languages. That and it has too many extra words! Like what is the word "do" all about anyway? But, if you think about it...there are many things that are more expensive than gasoline. I would use Milk as an example (it's the one most commonly used to make this point)...except that at my local Wal-Mart milk is $1.99 a gallon now...and that's a few cents less than gas in my area at the moment. I would chock it up to supply and demand as well. If we didn't need it...they couldn't sell it any price. Would be nice if we could get tot he point of not needing it. Especially since it's one of the primary reasons the ozone layer has a big hole in it. Do you make it a point to study independent of a school setting?
