I didn't have time to respond to Spring earlier, and your query as well, Dave. So I'll do it now.
I love deviled eggs, but Spring, I like your name for them better. So, if by "Heavenly Stuffed Eggs" you mean those tasty treats often served at picnics and church dinners, we are understanding each other!
But our British friends may not know what we mean, so I am going to give Dave and any others a recipe so you have an idea of how to make "Heavenly Stuffed Eggs."
Heavenly Stuffed Eggs
4 hard-boiled eggs
2 Tablespoons mayonaisse or salad dressing
1 teaspoon vinegar, cider vinegar works well
1/2 teaspoon paprika
a pinch of salt
Peel the eggs and slice them length-wise. Gouge out the yolks and place them in a bowl. Set aside the empty eggs whites.
Mash the egg yolks and add the mayo or salad dressing, vinegar, paprika and salt. Mix well. Using a spoon, fill each egg white and arrange on a platter. Sprinkle with additional paprika, and if desired add a sprig of parsley for presentation.
Enjoy!
Now Dave, if it's ostrich heavenly egg you want, you'll need to double the above recipe, using only one ostrich egg, of course.
But I doubt you'll find ostrich eggs on the market at any reasonable price for eating. Here in Texas they are at a premium for hatching. Birds = big bucks, you know.
Back to our thread!
Yes, Dave, I knew what you meant. What, no more trams! But the transport you describe sounds far better.
Still, the idea of "going to work on an egg" got me chuckling.
Can you imagine balancing on an egg? Wouldn't it be slightly smashed?
