Did you read Exodus 34? It does not take that long. That’s not true at all. Why can’t a person simply accept what it literally says?

Is your faith in science or in God’s word?
The way I see it I might be wrong in believing what the Bible actually says or I might be wrong believing what science says. Personally for me, I’d rather be wrong believing what the Bible says rather than what some scientists say.
The act of interpreting the Bible literally is adding your personal thoughts to the Bible. You're choosing how to interpret it.

It's not 'what science says' or 'what scientists say'. It's what nature itself says. Reading the evidence God left in nature is no different than reading the text of a book.
I've personally been to sites where geologic features showed millions of years of erosion, and seen fossils of extinct animals, and calculated the redshift of distant galaxies. These are all things that are part of God's creation.
The list of Commandments is totally different from the other Ten. Well, it starts roughly the same. It is best to use a more modern translation since the KJV is harder to comprehend in modern English.Ok what’s your point here?
Because of the endless self contradictions in the Bible.
Why should there be? Faith is not a pathway to the truth. A Muslim has the same faith as a Christian does. The sciences answer other questions than religious ones.
I can choose to say well this appears to indicate that the world is a couple million years old which is interesting because I know it’s not.
No, you do not know. You only believe. The difference between theological beliefs and the science is that we can get knowledge of our world from the sciences. Ideas can be tested and confirmed and are demonstrable. The same cannot be said about biblical beliefs.I can choose to say well this appears to indicate that the world is a couple million years old which is interesting because I know it’s not.

An insignificant difference. We were discussing faith. Not what people have faith in.No because a Muslim doesn’t have faith in Christ’s words. So it’s not the same.
Nope. That is a logical non sequitur. The sciences are simply silent about that.Faith is not a pathway to the truth. So since science has no faith in Christ’s resurrection then it is not truth?
Please note that it never states anywhere in scripture exactly how old the earth is.
So when I read Exodus 20:11 I can’t simply believe what is plainly stated? No interpretation is needed.
“For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and made it holy.”
Exodus 20:11 NASB1995
Nope. That is a logical non sequitur. The sciences are simply silent about that.

And we know by applying science that those are not true. One reason that many Christians do not follow a literal interpretation of the Bible is that they take the Earth to be God's creation. God's creation tells us that a literal interpretation cannot be true.Actually you can trace the age of the Earth through the genealogies to around 6,020 something years. Sorry it’s been a few years since I calculated it.
But the Bible claim is that Jesus was more than human. No they’re not. Biology tells us that the human brain is completely damaged beyond repair after a just few minutes without oxygen.
Applying strict literalism to that *is* an interpretation.
