Not sure what you mean by a work in progress. Do you mean the original setting up of the reflectors by the astronauts? There is a video here Bouncing Lasers off the Moon which shows the reflectors being set up, and also them being used after the moon landing. (There are probably plenty of other videos - this was just the first I came across.) The video is only 6 minutes 23 seconds long.

As for lasers going to the moon and back, this site has a video including that:

The retroreflectors have been mentioned many times in this and other threads. Apple Sky either denies, ignores, or laughs at them.

She ignores it because she can’t prove them wrong. It’s hard for some folks to change their opinions even after being shown factually and conclusively that their belief is indeed wrong so I challenge @Apple Sky to prove that the lunar reflectors are not on the moon surface.

No reason to have reflectors (mirrors that reflect) if the laser is not reflected back. This is the only way that the reflectors are useful and data is being collected to this day. So the reflectors are indeed reflecting.

You're not going to see a "Laser" coming back, you have to measure the photons being bounced back

You wouldn't be able to see it with your eyes, you have to measure it with specialized equipment that filters out the background noise.
Given the experiment has a fixed frequency of light you can filter for that same frequency back.

So outbound is around 300 quadrillion photons, the detector might get 10 billion back.

Would you be able to understand what you were watching?
No matter how precise the laser is, by the time it reaches the reflectors on the moon's surface the beam will have diverged significantly, so only a small amount of the original laser will actually hit the mirrors, and since what is being reflected back is no longer a tight, narrow beam, even less of the light will come back to where the laser originated. Extremely sensitive equipment is needed to detect the tiny amount of light being reflected back. It isn't enough to be detected by the naked eye, thus in the mind of a five year old it isn't visible so it isn't there. Hence I already know you will dismiss it because you don't understand what is required.

Since they don't detect the laser light being reflected back until 2.564 seconds later, they can calculate the distance the light travelled using the speed of light. Divide that by 2 and you get the distance to the moon.

I personally do not. There is not a snowflakes chance in a supernova that all the complex, specialised cells that make up any living organism, all working together in concert, could have come about from random mutation.
