The second can just mean "covered in blood" - or maybe someone with blood on their hands, which is possibly what the KJV is referring to.

To British people, it is considered swearing.

A lot of the time, yes. It can have that other meaning though. As in "the bloody tower" in the Tower of London.

Indeed. By the way, I, like many Americans, did not realize the British regarded it as swearing until I had thoroughly embarassed myself, since the word lacks that connotation in the US. And thus in that manner I was chagrinned.

Also, this is why many American writers cannot competently write British characters: they inadvertently cause them to be spectacularly vulgar toffs (due to the influence of the Upper RP accent on American culture).

I'm sorry to hear that.
Yes, it still is a swear word. A very tame one these days, and some might deny that it is one. But anyway.

I wouldn’t worry about it. British people make similar faux pas remarks in the US. For example, pot plants in fact refer to marijuana over here. And I could go on; there is quite a lot of double entendre that is used in your green and pleasant land that has an altogether more innocent meaning in the US. These are dialectical and cultural differences.

This is the moon lander, somehow this rickety and flimsy looking pile of tin detached from the main craft landed on the moon and also protected the astronauts from radiation and, well, all the other deadly debris floating around waiting to rend your craft asunder in space- oh and then it blasted off the surface of the moon and made it all the way back to couple with the main craft.

I found this video when looking up the Firmament.

Is that what the scientist said, or is it what the youtube channel said?
I don't feel the need to watch a video which might result in generating income for a channel I have no wish to support.

No it's about what scientists have discovered about Sprites.

Professor Yoav Yair

Geoff MacHarg scientist

Here is are some photos of sprites which illuminate the firmament above.

So not actually firmament. That is just the interpretation of the youtube channel. How high up were these observed? SpaceX's starship reached 200km before re-entering Earth's atmosphere just a few days ago.
[Edit]
Lightning_sprites.jpg

So sprites occur at less than half the altitude reached by Starship a few days ago

I'm not sure how high up the plain was when they took the photos but apparently the sprites reach the height of the Ionosphere which is about 191 miles up.

Planes fly at a maximum of 13km

So not all scientists, astronomers and those who explore space are liars then?
Good to know.

Ha! Just NASA, the worst of the worst.
Geoff MacHarg works at NASA.

The 2 scientists you quoted write about space and planets - you deny that either exist.

You said in one thread that space doesn't exist and another time you said that planets are wandering stars.

Ah that's right, I thought you mean't the 2 scientist, that's right space does not exist & the planets are just wondering stars which float around in the firmament. I know Geoff MacHarg works at NASA this is why I was reluctant to post the video at at first, until I watched it and he seemed Ok.
