Another Error Question

I am trying to re-download all of my stuff (Java,Macromedia, etc) since I reformatted my hd... and I keep getting the attatched error message when I'm downloading JAVA...any ideas on what I can do to fix this?

Wow it's like your computer really went out to lunch after you reformatted the drive.

Well, I'd check if the cab file is where it's supposed to be as per message. Maybe your browser downloaded the file into a different location. I don't have 1.5 running on mine. It seems a bit unusual to install a Sun JRE from a cab file, but sure I guess that's possible.

It might be worthwhile to note why you reformatted your drive in the first place. Was there some kind of strange virus on your system?

I found this on another forum I visited that may help you out.

I got around this problem by using offline installation. Click 'Manual Download" link on this page >> http://www.java.com/en/index.jsp then click the download button for offline installation. Then save the file away and do your install offline. It worked for me.

I reformatted because my computer was a mess! I could barely turn it on without something crashing! (My husband installed a lot of video games on a not so great computer in the first place!) So I reformatted...and it's runing wonderfully now minus a few glitches
