another daughter question

What do you do when your daughter flies off the handle? It's never her fault. She's a good kid has friends does well in school.

But if she can't find something, bam its someone else's fault. ex. she can't find a bag that has boxtops for school, I think she had 20 and fell to PIECES.

I told her to keep her bag of boxtops in her room where no one else could inadvertinely throw it away not knowing what it was. Then it takes her some time to calm down.

Now her stomach is bothering her so she missed school the 2nd day of this week and she is going to the doctor today to see if there is anything we should be aware of.

It is frustrating to both her and ourselves.

Sounds like she has some anxiety issues. I would talk to her pediatrician.

We took her yesterday to the doc, who suggested we get Pepcid Complete and she is going to try that plus she needs to do a stool sample.

I can't/wont tell you what to do. But if this were my daughter, I would tell her to get over herself. I might add, I do this now. It is her responsibility to look after her gear. Just as you told your daughter to look after hers.
If Michele did this "I think she had 20 and fell to PIECES." then I would treat that as a temper tantrum and treat it accordingly. She would not need to go to a paediatrician. She would not need to do a stool sample. She would do a lotta crying and she would get over herself and look after her stuff.

Did you tell the doctor about the emotional business too? Stomach issues on top of emotional issues usually are connected.

How old is she? My oldest was always the tough as nails, type A kid that handled responsibility well...and then she went into middle school and she would cry when she got frustrated and was overall more emotional. It's starting to even out....but hormones can be a bear to deal with. I say it's like she has a constant case of PMS,lol.

Oh yeah most definitely. She did have stomach and allergy problems and have medicne for it. My husband is going to talk to her teacher this afternoon.

She's almost 11. Yeah we thought of the emotional but wanted to sort out the physical first.

Tell she realizes that it is Her fault that she flies off the handle, she won't be able to correct it.

I just posted in your other thread, asking about what age daughter's started their periods.

Although I agree with others, that she has to realize that it is her responsibility, it sounds like, paired with what you posted in that thread, it could be hormones kicking in. I hope you mentioned that part to her doc too.

She's doing a lot better with the allergy med and cough syrup. It 's not otc cough syrup either that does not work out very well.

Her class is going to San Diego for a 5th grade vacation ONLY if she is current up to date and doing well.
She gets it. :.)
