I am having an annoying problem with Mozilla Firefox. Every time I open the brower or click on a link that opens a new window, it is always partially minimized. Reinstalling doesn't even solve the problem and it has only done this recently.

How do I fix this?

Has this been happening since you started using firefox or just recently.
For me, when I close a window, the next new windows will display in thesame state (maximized etc). I maximize the window then close it and every other new windows displays maximized.

It may be something that can be changed in about:config, but wouldn't know where it would be if it is. Opening new links can be made to open in a new tab, which would allieviate that problem. That can be found in the Tools->Options under the Tabs section (for the Linux version of Firefox, it's actually Edit->Preferences instead of Tools->Options - I have no clue why that is).

I've heard this a few times too. I don't know any answer for you. Maybe delete it and reinstall it?

I tried a couple times with no success. Perhaps I should just buy opera. Ive never heard anything bad about it.

Rumur has it that you have a book coming out soon, Jeff? You'll have to PM me a link to where I can buy a copy and may I ask what its about?

Everyone loves Opera, but I didn't like it. I really love Safari, but you have to us Mac's OS X.

Book is coming out. Soon I hope, it will be on amazon.com under my real name within a month or so. It's about Catholicism :)

That's pretty cool. Did you find it difficult to get published? For some reason I think breaking into the book buisness is a tough racket.

It was very, very, very, very hard. I sent my manuscript to over a 50 publishers before I even got a letter back!

Even better is that it's free  As for your problem, I can't ever recall having it with any of my installations...

How do I fix this?

Start Firefox and resize the window to the size you want it to be.

Hold down the ctrl key and click the X to close Firefox.

Start Firefox again.

Does that fix it?

Last I heard you had to buy it.

I believe Opera is now free.

While Opera is kind of neat it is also my least favourite browser (yes, I put it after IE). That's a personal preference though and you might really like it.

One thing I always did like about Opera was the integrated email program.

Quit Firefox and restart it in safe mode (Firefox safe mode, not Windows safe mode).

You should get a window called "Firefox Safe Mode" and it should have some options available. Choose "Reset Toolbars and Controls" and "Make Changes on Restart".

Restart Firefox normally, resize the window, quit and restart and see if it sticks.

It most definitely is - can't remember when the non-ad supported version became so, but I think it was some time last year.
