Does a "report closed" notice tell me why a post I reported is still sitting in the thread untouched?you arent getting the report closed notices when something has been handled?
Melly this and many others sites are Lee's job. These websites are how he makes his money.I don't think Ron is the tech guy, but Ron has alot on his plate, and if the members could understand that there is thousands of members, and only 3 head admins, that have access to all this, then maybe you can see what they are putting up with.
Yes it has alot to do with the coding, the codes have to be right fo rthe reports to work right. Ron, Lee, and Constance are doing the best they can, they also have a real life other then cf as well, they have jobs, and they come here and do this as well. Give them a break.
No what I am speaking of are the many incidents of inconsistency, and unfairness in who the rules are enforced upon and who they are not. I have too many times documented that this is indeed a problem, one that is being ignored.Held accountable for what? ruling something no violation according to the written rules ? If the post is still there and the report is closed - its pretty self evident it was ruled no violation - of course unless its a matter where a thread was closed altogether
As far as action taken on one that is missing or editted obviously thats pretty apparant then action was taken - so why would a reporter need to know what happened on another members account as a result?
Yes, but Ron and constance have other jobs, and this isn't Lee's only Job, if I remember correctly, he has a Job he works for someone. This is a self owned thing, yes he generates money from it, but he bought it fair and square and he has the right to run it how he wants too.Melly this and many others sites are Lee's job. From my understanding (I did ask about this today) reports are going to be opened to both reporters and reportees.Reports only need to be open to those reported and those who are reporters.

I think there was a mess up on the coding, or thats what I keep hearing... I am not 100% sure, I am a ministry mod so I only really know what goes on there. As I said, that is already occurring. My question is--why only certain fora? Is it a gradual implementation, or will I never be able to access my reports in Debates?

Ron, bes there ANY viable chance that reports can be coded to allow BOTH the Reporter and the Reportee access? As much as this one does not relish the thought of the potential for slanging it out, it cannot think of any other way in which the process would be fair to all parties involved. It simply does not seem fair to the other party to be cut out of the loop. Currently those BEING reported bes cut out whilst those DOING the reporting can see. But they will be reversing that soon and then only those being reported will be able to see while the reporter will not.I agree, and we need a way in which to do this. The first step is getting the reported member access to the report thread, so they can interact with staff. That helps one member, but doesn't help the membership as a whole. We do need a way to deseminate the finer points of rule application so all can benefit. How to do so with the constraints we are under is tricky, but it is something we are looking at.
I've spoken with Erwin, and he seems very relaxed where he is nowERWIN!!!!!!
HI
You have no idea how much I want YOU back!!!
bug people, there is a kink in the system, I believe Lee has said this already that when his tech guy has time, he is going to fix this...Why can't people reported in GA see their report threads?
Hey Melly, you're pretty new to staff, so maybe you bes not aware that in the past this HAS in fact been a problem, with staff operating from a bias of personal like/dislike/favoritism or else from a bias formed on the basis of their personal theological and/or political views contrasted with whatever members' reports they bes working, etc. Definitely NOT with ALL staff of course, but enough of it going on to be evident in stacked-deck outcomes. There bes evidence that some staff historically have indeed talked behind the backs of regular members and sought to sour the opinion of other staff against them by playing up their faults or whatever about them they thought bes not "Christian" or not "theologically correct" or whatever. So hon, sad as it sounds, there DOES be precedent for this. Now, this bes NOT your fault, and this one bes certain you will do your best to be a good, honorable staff member AND you need to believe likewise about all your fellow staff in order to make that work. We get that. But you need to understand there does indeed be valid cause for feeling a bit querulous and uncertain with regard to all the secrecy because we've seen the results of whatever went on behind those closed doors.what happends in the staff area is between the staff and noone else. We aren't picking out people and picking on them, and thats what this thread sounds like its doing is accussing staff.
