  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

There's been a lot of talk regarding talking animals of late, & even a reference in the 'Origin of the Moon' thread to the Pink Floyd album 'Animals'.

I found a dead bird outside my back door this morning, either it had an accident or my cat killed it.

My questions are:

What happens to an animal when it dies? Does it have a soul, where does it go?

and...

Will my cat go to hell because it killed it?

It isnt, obviously. Just wondering if you have asked this question in the right forum.

Heh... maybe, I dunno. I'm fairly new.

Maybe I should've phrased it differently. I mean, you could say that it's as much of a scientific question as "can a snake talk?", or "origin of the moon", or the "hottest woman on earth" (obviously Clairvoyance, LOL) etc...

Yeah. People here want to poke holes in biblical literalism by exploring the scientific view of various myths.

AND others want to poke holes in science by pointing out how scientists themselves use intuition to arrive at hypotheses, or become emotionally attached to certain outcomes.

As for animals and souls: Supernatural souls with personal identity that "lives" on past death is ultimately a matter of faith. (BUT I'm pretty sure science does have a few things to say about our propensity for wishful-thinking.)

Does an animal have the concept of God?
One needs God, before knowing the Heaven/Hell.
