Animal Sacrifices in my Home town

Please pray for Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi District of Orissa. Every year they celebrate a festival called Chatar Jathra... In which they sacrifice around 10000 animals in that day to the deity called Manikeswari.. Previously they used to offer human sacrifices.. and nowadays too there are speculations that human sacrifices are offered. I am sending you some photos which were taken yesterday (28th September) to show the magnitude of the sacrifice. In spite of Government banning such sacrifices the practice continues unabated. Needs continuous prayer to break the powers and to release the people from blind belief... Please pray

Father, You tell us in Hosea 6:6 "For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice' and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings." Though this request is about offerings to another god, You tell us in Hebrews 10:6-8 "In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure." Oh, the darkness in this world. In answer to this prayer request may You powerfully enter it, sparing animals, and giving light to the heathen. May salvation come about by Your response to this prayer request. Amen.

Animal sacrifices and even human sacrifices occur here in the USA as well, but the evil one keeps most people ignorant of this. Praying that God opens people's eyes to this evil, and gives them wisdom about countering it!
