  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Matthew 5:21-22 NIV

“You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder,[a] and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister[b][c] will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’[d] is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.

What about Ephesians 4:26?
parallel7.gif
New International Version (©1984)
"In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.
So as long as we do not sin, when we are angry,we are not sinning.

By the way,you are right, blackribbion. The Bible is the best reference for us christians when it comes to christian issues.

Where did this statement come from? It is saying that when we are angry, we are more likely to let sin get a foothold in our lives....nothing about not being sin if we aren't angry. Sin is sin regardless of our mood...however certain moods make us more likely to make bad choices.

Ephesians 4:26 is an awesome addition. I'm going to add several more verses too...

Ephesians 4:26-29

“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

IMO, this is another example of how Christ clarified the law. He "elevated" how our walk should be. Another example being actually loving our enemies not just abstaining from returning evil.

Good OP and "food for thought" blackribbon.
