I see there are a good many encounters with demons in the forums, but Im wondering why there arn't more posts about seeing angles
I've seen a demon & in a vision that was set at darkness of hiddeous animals that were flying, but for years I've wanted to see angels.
I had an awesome encounter with at least 2 of them though. My stalled car was completely pushed out of the road (totally flat section of it) by some. Never saw them physically, but I know that was totally impossible for my car to be moved like that in the natural.

So Im wondering why I've never seen them....bcause I would love too. & I end up seeing the enemy so far instead.

Angels have control over when they want to make themselves visable (like the guy who was kicking his donkey because the donkey was turning around because it saw the angel and the man didn't, and he beat the donkey to go forward and the donkey magically talked to him "why do you beat me?" and then the angel in front of him made himself visable and told the man "Your donkey saved you by turning around because if you came any closer I would have killed you".) They have power over when they appear, so they appear when they want to be seen, not when you want to see them.

As a child, I was sick once with the flu (like 2, and I remember it) and a glowing orb came through the door at my great-grandmothers andgot really bright and healed me. My dad came to check on me after my nap and my fever was gone.

They're tricky.

it seems that most times angels are seen when they need to make announcements or annunciations to people directly.

i do remember the exception of Jacob's ladder and also of the book of Revelation.

even when they do appear usualy the greeting is something like "don't be afraid"....so there must be something about angels that would naturally strike fear or awe or reverence into a person's heart.

i have felt their protective actions as well on my car. but i haven't seen them except for once in a dream.
that one was what is called a 'ministering spirit' and was dressed in ordinary clothes and human appearance, not as an angel.

That is a good question... but I'm sure that people have angel encounters and not only demonic encounters!

I've seen angels a few times... but only in visions.
The last experience was like pdudgeon's... in a vision I was 'introduced' to three people who called themselves ministering spirits. They too looked like ordinary humans... only very clean looking .

Another time I remember I was praising and dancing in my room... when I recieved a vision of an angel standing between my desk and wall. He was totally white... wearing white robes and he had this HUGE sword next to him. I only saw this flash for one second... but this appearance was so amazing that it stuck with me ever since.

I've also had it a few times that I would be praying... and then feel someone standing right next to me. This isn't just a feeling, because I don't actually notice that I'm sensing someone in the room until I remeber that I'm the only one there . It's as if a family member is together with me in the room, that's how natural it feels. Sometimes I also see this 'being' moving infront of my eyes as I'm praying with eyes closed. I know these must be angels because I don't feel threatened at all, but extremly safe.

Lol... the Lord is so good... I am just amazed with all He does for us!

That's a good question. I've never seen an angel, but I've asked God to allow me to see one, so far not though. I would much rather see angels than demons, even if in a dream.
Maybe there would be a problem with angel worship, even though I think I'd be cool with seeing one, maybe I wouldn't.

I've seen demons in dreams. Only once or twice I could have seen an angel awake.

I was young in the hospital and was very sick. My grandma and other witnesses say I was looking at the ceiling singing this song that goes like, "There he is, he is coming" a song about Jesus Christ coming from the sky. I think when that was happening I must have seen a couple of angels coming down a stair. This other time I also saw something that was questionable. I saw this guy that look just like my father and dressed with the same clothes as my father, but was transparent. My dad is not dead so I was still figuring out if he is a familiar spirit or not. I never talked to him and he never talked to me.

I remember when I was younger I used feel like there was something there in my room and would panic. I don't know why I panic, but it doesn't happen anymore.

It could be that people would be that people would be to quick to worship them instead of fully seeking God. & the thought came to me that if they appeared often then faith woudn't take so much heart, effort & seeking after God.

I suppose it's not impossible that I have seen them...like Soulwings said(love that new character chix=)) they could have simply taken on human form & dress & they were assigned this task so I didn't realise I had met angels...the angels unaware thing

Mmm.. that reminds me of another time. I was once waiting for the bus to arrive to go to school, when this other bus stopped right infront of me. The doors opened and there was a man standing there. This man said to me 'I have a plan...' (in Dutch).
Then he repeated it again. I was just staring at him like 'uhhh '. The busdriver told him he had to get out of the bus. When he got out he said to me again 'I have a plan'. I had no idea what to say, but then these other ladies sitting there told him where this street was. If you compare what he told me in Dutch, and with what he was actually asking (guessing from the ladies' answers), it was totally different. The name of the street he was 'asking for' sounded totally different than 'I have a plan' in Dutch.
I don't know...perhaps I was with my head in the clouds and really just not listening properly... or it was an angel ...lol

I've had one encounter with angels. I had just graduated high school and had not left for college yet. I had been going through a lot and was suicidal. I purposefully stayed up late one night and waited about an hour after everyone had gone to bed to make sure they were sound asleep. I went into the kitchen and started playing with Mom's butcher knife. To this day I don't know why I put it back in the drawer because I wanted to go through with it more than anything. As I was walking back to my room, I remember thinking "I don't want to go this way. I want to turn around and just do it. Stop thinking about how much it will hurt and just do it." Right then I felt as if I was physically unable to control any part of my body, like I had no control over where I walked or where I looked or anything. I could feel hands all over me, on my legs, my arms, my back, my cheeks, my shoulders, everywhere. I could feel hands holding onto me very tightly and someone's breath strongly on my ear. It was like I could almost hear someone yelling into my ear and I could actually feel their breath. I had stayed up late that night being very careful that everyone else was asleep and I would be alone, so I touched my arm and my ear just to be sure that I really was by myself. I went back to bed thinking that I could still go back and go through with it and still feeling like I was being restrained. I'm no longer suicidal, but that one night is the most influencial night of my life. I figure, God must really love me and have important plans for me for Him to go to all that just for me.

That's confusing. Why would angels want to kill? Aren't they meant to be from God=good?

It's that story of Bilieam... lemme look for it... argh I can't find it because my spelling is off.

It's the story in the OT, where Bilieam is called by these kings who want to curse the people of Isreal (who are still wandering the desert). He tries to curse Isreal, but each time the Lord turns Bileam's cursings into blessing... and there is an angel who would of killed Bileam if he had gotten any closer.

your testimony is amazing! Praise Jesus!
It is definitly a sign of Jesus' eternal love for His children. You were stopped for a reason, and He most probably has a plan for your life.

I believe Balaam is the prophet you are thinking of

Thinking of that OT story I believe the angel may have meant that the glory on him would kill the prophet if he got to close or maybe the angel meant it literally, bcause of his disobedience & hardheaded ways.

Well I once heard that the closer you are to god the closer your demons are to you. I heard this while watching a docamentory on stigmata. It was covering a priest for latin america who claim the devil beat him a couple of times nearly to death, cause his faith was so strong. I don't remember his name.

I also once heard that angles have free will of there own. So that means, you have multi wills at work. The Will of God, the will of man, the will of angles, and demons, and the will of the devil. And yea god's will trumps all, but he allows us all to be free in our will.

but devils cant touch you cuz u've been covered by the blood of Jesus. Satan and his devils/demons can come near you but they can't lay a finger on you... or can they?

In terms of encounters with angels and demons, I have had two encounters with angels in a directly manifest way. I have only had one such encounter with a demon.

However, I very rarely discuss the angelic encounters because they are intensely personal. One of the encounters the Holy Spirit has made me share twice and I didn't really want to, but I did it because I love Him.

The demonic one however I will share more readily because it didn't mean something to me.

Maybe the reason we are hearing more about angels than demons is because of this reason.

Or perhaps large sections of the charismatic move don't know our redemption in Christ and are subsequently demon obsessed.

That is an option too.
