You mean like when you quote scriptures about hypocrisy at people- that seems to be a "your Church is bad" mentality to me. As for me, I've made no negative comments about any church here, so I guess either you're confused or talking about your own fallible manner.
Either way, cool.

I don't know- perhaps this would be a good thing to take to prayer, as I have just explained how this is all happening on your side.

For the record:
The Orthodox Church isn't perfect.
She is beautiful, and She is genuine. As for you and yours, that is for you and God to sort out.
However, comparing the issues of contention between the OO and EO with the issues between AoG and SDAs is patently ridiculous. There is virtually no disagreement between OO and EO. Is it prideful that we are not yet unified completely? No, it is wisdom to take time before making covenant.

Yeah, I've read that...though I have no idea why you're quoting it at me. Is this a riddle?
No, no riddle Rdr.
And I'm not saying that your church is
arrogant or any of the other things you
mentioned.

Absolutely not.
I have no beef with any denomination that
exalts Jesus Christ.

Have a blessed day.

But you can do this with the theories that the church puts forth and this is okay and not the same? Please explain to me this? I am curious by nature and want to know why when you do it that is okay but when we bring truth into the picture of the theory be are somehow bastardizing the scripture..
The bastardizing of the scripture, as I termed it, is using it to name call. Using it to disagree is acceptable, but to name call ("pharisee"-"hypocrite" etc.) is not.

I don't know that the Orthodox Church saying that it has the fullest deposit of truth is anything different than the Southern Baptists who are sure that we don't, or anywhere near as offensive as the SDAs who swear that Rome is the Beast.

I do not brag of being EO, I am thankful that I can worship God as I do- it means something to me. I respect other traditions, but my respect does not impel me to say that all truths and all approaches are equal. Nevertheless, I and we reserve judgement.

So enough of the justification for name calling, and the persecution complex. There are just as many in each tradition fingerpointing- and if you respond with fingerpointing, it's you who is in error. I have not seen you do that here. Nevertheless, I shall not reply in kind.
peace
James

Look at the words that she put in there through the scirpture.She wasn't callin anyone names. She put the words that she wanted read in Italic's. Saying that the Word of God corrects and rebukes and is profitable. For God has promised that His word will not return void unto Him. We have complete trust in what He has to say. So instead of reading what she put in italics you accuse her of calling names..

Luke 11:27 And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.
28: But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
Sorry Rick.
For my part in this thread hijacking.
:crossrc:
Rather or indeed?
:D

That's better. Now we're right
on track ;)

Thanks for clarifying an issue we had already worked through. Your input is quite superfluous, but thanks nonetheless.

So, what then? In what year did a term have to be defined to "apply" to the church?

I just can't believe people consider what is supposed to be "one Body", can be split into different denominations. Orthodoxy is not a denomination, and will even go and say Catholicism isn't either. They existed from the beginning. All these new breeds can go ahead and call themselves denominations..

One body means many different people.. If they come from different back grounds or churchs what is the Problem? Jesus said that there is neither Jew nor greek nor male nor female.. IF we are all united to Christ through His shed blood and Sealed with His Spirit who is to say we are not the body of Christ? For it is Christ who builds His church.. He is no respector of persons..

The problem is..if all these Churches and people believe all different things, how can they be one Body?

There is neither Jew nor Greek, male and female if they all believe the same thing..or does the Holy Spirit and Christ allow such dissension among His One Body?

It is the written word of God that we are to believe.. His written word is so important.. Jesus spoke to us while here on earth and He appointed His Apostles to speak and write what He through the Power of the Holy SPirit Gave them.. This is why He always said you err not knowing the scriptures...

Aren't we all part of the body of Christ?
By all, i mean we who believe on the Lord
Jesus Christ as our saviour.

You are completely avoiding the question.

Now let's take what you said about Scripture..we all believe that Scripture is Truth. Now would One Body disagree on what the Truth in Scripture is?

Knowing Scripture means more than just knowing what the words say, but knowing what they mean. Yet we all disagree on what it mean. So your point here is moot.

Would One Body be in so much dissension? Answer the question.

Unfortunately, I think it happens.
Paul didn't like it.

1 Corinthians 1:10-13
10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that ye all speak the same thing,
and that there be no divisions among you;
but that ye be perfectly joined together
in the same mind and in the same judgment. {divisions: Gr. schisms}
11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren,
by them which are of the house of Chloe,
that there are contentions among you.
12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith,
I am of Paul;
and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas;
and I of Christ.
13 Is Christ divided?
was Paul crucified for you?
or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

Shoot, if it happened then, I'm not surprised if it happens now.

I am not avoiding anything.. I answered your question.. If it is not the answer you want then why don't you tell me what the answer is that you want.. We have to believe on the Lord Jesus and be washed in His blood and born of His spirit to be any of His.. This is our salvation.. It comes in Christ. Not in works but in Christ..Not in what we have done but in what He has done.

Verse 13 says it best: Is Christ divided?

Here Paul was correcting them, so that they be returned to one mind..this isn't happening today unfortunatly..

You are avoiding it, or not understanding it. Would one Body be in so much dissension? You said something about Scripture being Truth, and we must listen to it. In which I replied, even in Scripture we have dissension, so that doesn't help.

One Body should have one mind. One Body should agree, even if it is just in what Scripture means. Yet we don't have that. So do we have One Body? Would One Body have so much dissension?

If the heart didn't want to do what it was supposed to, what would happen to the body?..
