Then the House should take it up with the courts...they haven't except in 1 instance IIRC.

Ah yes, the same witness that threw several of Trump’s closest associates under the bus saying they were all aware of what was happening and that there in fact was a quid pro quo with regards to investigations and the withheld aid and a requested Oval Office meeting.

But that he had no first hand knowledge of any of it....right? You also remember when asked if he had any 1st hand knowledge of a quid pro quo he responded: No.

She was ill advised to have used the boy's name to make her point but just because right wing politicians and pundits want to cease on this and blow it out of proportion means little unless they are also doing the same to Donald Trump. Can you show us a single time where any of these right wingers have condemned Trump for his mocking of others?

Not only that but the icing on this irony cake is how just a week ago it was so wrong for Adam Schiff to share the president's tweet with Ambassador Yovanovitch and that she otherwise would not have even been aware of his witness tampering if he hadn't shared it in the hearing but this week, we have the entire right wing media machine blowing up a minor comment made in a congressional hearing no 13 year old would waste their time watching.

He is openly defiant of the checks and balances of our government as prescribed by the Constitution. His supporters are following him in that position, just as they have in everything else he's done.

If he believed he could get away with it, he absolutely would order mass arrests.

I don't have the foresight to know all the potential consequences, but he's undermining our democracy with each day he's in office and violating the Constitution.

I can't think of a single reason why constitutional law professors don't like our criminal president who undermines the Congress, Constitution, his Oath of Office and lies to the American People on a daily basis. Not one reason sticks out at me why someone who studies the constitution for a living would have any dislike of this president.

Oh, that's right. The credibility of the witness ought not count for anything when we're talking about an impeachment of the president.

If making bad jokes makes one lack credibility, seems like we know why Donald isn't willing to testify.

But given how his followers ate up the "no collusion, you're the collusion" type defenses, this doesn't seem to be a consistently-applied standard. More a rationalization brought out when needed to rationalize away uncomfortable facts.

I understand. It's a big joke. Nothing to hesitate doing. That's what we do in politics now--ridicule children (unless it's Greta Thunberg, then no).

But when Obama was in the White House, no one dare say anything about his children, even if it was not a slam. Oh no. They were off-limits, you see, and as any decent person should know without being told.
