Thats what I thought and why I put it under science or more towards the hard sciences. But the mods moved it not me.

Though I still maintain that the social sciences is another line of evidence.

We have a few threads in the science section on ancient tech I think anyway.
Start a new thread on the Younger Dryas. That would fit perfectly well on the physical science section.

But how does making it about science take it down a conspiract rabbit hole or aliens and spaceships.
Has more to do with the title of the thread. Ancient technology and knowledge. If there's technology involved, then there would be parts left over.

What was being discussed seemed like it was implying aliens in spaceships.

Ok, I think that may be something to do with this topic being associated with conspiracies like aliens passing on tech and knowledge. But thats is a different aspect, more philosophical.

I am more interested in the facts on the ground as to what the knowledge was and how this compares throughout history to see if ancient cultures had knowledge and tech beyond what we would consider for that time and place.

The main evidence for this comes from the megalithic cultures that seem to be the earliest of cultures that soon came after hunter and gatherers. Yet they level of tech and knowledge seems to outstrip later cultures.

I want to understand better how these ancient cultures thought and see if there was any special knowledge they had.

The only way I see it as being slightly a conspiracy is that if these ancient cultures had a kind of high knowledge for their time then it may imply they tapped into some sort of natural knowledge similar to indigenous knowledge of nature and they were manipulating nature with physics or geometry.

There is evidence for these ancient sites having higher elecromagnetic energy and chemical reactions between different rocks amd knowledge of plant extracts that may have softens granite. But these arebased on the sciences, on doing scientific tests for these signatures.

But the aim is to first establish what tech and knowledge they had from the sciences and observations on the ground which has nothing to do with conspiracies or aliens ect but just what the signatures are in the ancient works.

Well, for technology, they had ropes and pulleys.

OK I assume your referring to the Egyptians or maybe some sites in Turkey like Baalbek or even some Asian works are megalithic. But lets stick with Egypt. The largets works in Egyptian dynasties comes from the earliest old kingdom dynasties and even predynastic period. We are talking not just the mega pyramids like the Giza pyramid and others on the Giz plateau. But the 1,000 plus ton statues and obeliskss.

The granite blocks for these works had to be excavated, lifted as high as 30 feet and in some cases transported up to a 1,000 miles from the quarry over hills and even mountains.

The records show some ancient hemp rope and small wooden sledges around 20 feet. These mega blocks are up to 100 feet x 20 feet square. They would crush a wood sled deep into the ground.

The wheel had not been invented and there were no pully systems.
The logistics of construction at the Giza site are staggering when you think that the ancient Egyptians had no pulleys, no wheels, and no iron tools.

So we are left with totally inadequate tools and explanation for how these megaliths were made and moved.

Now this in itself doesn't mean there was any magic involved. But its an open question as to how this was done. This can be applied to a range of amazing works from the very earliest cultures that later cultures could not emulate.

I recall seeing an illustration that they used mud and just pushed the huge bricks up a slant.

Since it was a long time ago, it's possible humans were just stronger then because they didn't have technology like us so they actually used their muscles.

And yet that's impossible for him to accept. There has to be some sort of extra angle for everything, even though the simplest explanations make sense.

People worked. They use manual labour. They just had to use their knowledge to go around different problems that we today don't have to.

Baalbek is in Lebanon, not Turkey. (The name kinds of gives it away as Canaanite, and not Anatolian.)

The first humans apparently had way longer life spans who knows what else they could do.

I have never heard of the idea they may have been stronger. Though I the Inca stories do mention giants who built the megalith polygon walls in Cuzco and Ollantaytambo.

I think that is why people come up with these alternative iideas because what they see with the megaliths and precision works doesn't match the tools and abilities we know of humans throughout history. Like the wheel came later, lathe type work later again and thing gradually got better, But not the other way around. So we look foir explanations.

For somethings like the giant blocks 1,000 ton plus its not a case of human strength. We are moving into high tech for such large blocks. Examples of logistics throughout history have required technology like cranes, rails, massive multiu axelled trucks and still it was a struggle. This is beyond wooden sleds, hemp rope and manpower.

But it not just the logistics. The pyramids are more than just a bunch of blocks put together. The best examples are within them or around them in the temples.

Yes I always get them mixed up. Yes Baalbek which has the Trilithon with 3 mega blocks weighing 800 to 900 tons. With a couple more still in the ground weighing up to 1600 tons.
Megaliths and pyramid stones are very different things. They typical blocks in the pyramids weighed about as much as a car. Only a few special stones were large.
In the case of the pyramid its regarded as a megalith because of its overall size. Though it does contain some 100 plus ton blocks inside. The largest single block would have to either be the unfinished Obelisk which is around 1200 tons or theres a couple of statues at around a 1,000 tons or more.

This is the Ramesseum Statue and like many of the works was found smashed like some catastrophy had hit them. But it was around 1,000 tons. You can see the humans for scale.

1738762363641.png

The block that was used to carve this statue would have been 1500 tons and was transported from Luxor 170 miles away. The face has the same geometric precision as the smaller versions. You can see the fine details of ribs, knee and shin bones and all polished in detail out of rose granite.

Later statues had nowhere near as much size or detail. Strange that such precision and fine work would come from the earliest kingdoms and even predyanstic Egyptains.
There has been a lot of work done on this an you seem intent on ignoring it.
Actually I have not ignore it. Don't assume my not believing the orthodox view is ignoring the orthodox view. The experiements and explanations go nowhere near explaining what we find.

Maybe its others ignoring the obvious that the tools found in the records are completely inadequate for explaing what we find.

Did I mention they found electrodes in the northern shaft of the Queens chamber in the Giza pyramid. Just saying. If you want to use what has been found in the archeological records than what about electrodes. What would they be used for.

Well, it is obvious that technology has made humans weaker and less intellectual, just look at what was completed in the past.
