I am coming to you my Orthodox brothers and sisters in the Lord with this special request for my father . .

I have learned that my father is dying .. he was raised Eastern Orthodox Antiochian, his father was a priest and his brother is a retired priest . .but he turned from the fiath early in his life . .

His digestive system is shutting down, he just had a huge cyst drained which is when they discovered all this . . He has asked to be taken home where he can die peacefully,

My biggest concern is for his soul, and that he turns back to God and the Church and receives the sacraments again before he dies . . of couse, I would like to see him healed and be hear with us for a while longer but I want his salvation more . .

Please pray for him . .his name is Albert . .

Thank you!

Peace in Him!

Thank you both of you . . . :)

Since he was raised Orthodox, it is my dearest hope that he return to the Orthodox faith before he dies . . . .
I sent his name to my OCF's prayer list so we will all pray for him at the same time every day... "wherever two or three are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst of them..." :prayer: :prayer: :prayer:

Perhaps you can get a person from the clergy to visit your father and talk with him. (It worked for my grandma... her daughter-in-law, my auntie, is a verrrry pious Pentecostal and sent her pastor to visit her when she was dying, and turned her back to God just before she died.)

I know this must be a very trying time for your family so just know that your father is getting lots of prayers, and I'm giving you lots of virtual hugs. His love for mankind knows no limits, and His mercy is without end... we'll be praying!

I want to thank EVERYONE For their prayers!!

This morning things looked very dire for my father . . this evening, he is 100% improved and is in no danger of dying! :)

Now, you are all going to wonder what in the world happened . .

They drained the cyst . . it contained a very bad and large bacterial infection (a little less than a liter and a half). . if he had waited any longer, it probably would have ruptured and he would have died within a very short time . .

Now, with it drained and with antibiotic treatment that he is responding to incredibly well, within a few hours today his condition changed dramatically . . At the very least God answered our prayers by directing the Doctors in the right course of treatment and my Dad in agreeing to it . . :)

It is something to be told to be ready to fly out to see your father probably for the last time and then a few hours later being told that everything is fine and that he is not only any longer in danger of dying, but he is out of the woods . .

I believe in the power of prayer, and appreciate all the prayers offered up by everyone on his behalf!

Thank you Lord!

:)

Peace in Him!

Shoot, man, I believe in the power of prayer, but I didn't know prayers could work THAT fast!! ^_^

My friends and I are still going to pray for him that he'll stay in health for many years, and that he will consider returning to faith. God bless and have a wonderful Christmas!!

Therese:

Join us in praying the Rosary on the OBOB for his conversion.

Remember the prayer St. Faustina recommended is an Orthodox prayer from the Divine Liturgy: "Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us."

This is a powerful prayer to the All Holy Trinity.

Indeed it is.

The first time I ever heard that prayer, I was at an OCF meeting. Then I heard it at my first Divine Liturgy that Sunday.

At the time I didn't know what it was, and I wasn't sure what it meant. But it made me come back to the Liturgy... again, and again, and again. Something about those beautiful words just latched onto my heart...
