  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This has to do with smart stupid people. We know where NDE's come from and it isn't interesting. Oxygen deprivation is enough to explain almost everything about NDE's. Oncologists or neurologists who have them and claim it was actually an experience from the afterlife are either lying or incredibly stupid. Usually, medicine involves learning a bunch of facts, not understanding critical thinking.

Even the remotest possibility of oxygen deprivation causing NDEs has been proved to be non-existent. It simply cannot account for them.

Below is a list of refutations of materialists' putative explanations of NDEs:

.. and a quote from the right-hand column:

Sir John Eccles
(Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine): I maintain that the human mystery is incredibly demeaned by scientific reductionism, with its claim in promissory materialism to account eventually for all of the spiritual world in terms of patterns of neuronal activity. This belief must be classed as a superstition ... we have to recognize that we are spiritual beings with souls existing in a spiritual world as well as material beings with bodies and brains existing in a material world.
